There should be a limit to what ambulance chasers can sue for and medical insurance should be available across any state line. We should open all federal land to oil exploration and we need to begin exporting crude to other countries. Ethanol should be done away with so corn can be used for food for humans and animals as God had intended it in the first place. Let Detroit build cars people want to buy,not these non-descript,cookie-cutter weeniemobiles with no power and wheels the size of pie tins.

My initial encounter with Hillary Clinton (then Rodham) happened over 45 years ago, when I was unwittingly subjected to what turned out to be the first speech of her long and contentious political career.
The speaker invited to give the commencement address was then-United States senator from Massachusetts and Republican Edward Brooke, who passed away only a few months ago after surviving well into his nineties.
Once Brooke had delivered his address on that long-ago June day in New England, Hillary took to the podium in rebuttal, blasting him for what she perceived as his failed vision of life. The good senator, a decorated World War II hero and the first African-American to be popularly elected to the United States Senate, sat patiently through the exorcism. But many alums were aghast at the co-ed’s outspoken rudeness. (Ironically, almost a half century later, Hillary received her comeuppance from another black politician.)
Even before she had her diploma in hand, Hillary was making her own rules and deceiving those who got in her way. Nobody was more surprised at the time by her inappropriate remarks than the college’s sitting president, to whom Hillary had previously submitted for approval an entirely different speech from the one she delivered at graduation.

Call me a racist,I don’t care.The sight of these filthy apes committing violence with no remorse or conscience just because they feel like it turns my insides over.
While we have progressed as a nation, the fact remains that society is still society and that people are still people. This means that there are still those predators and societal problems which require Peace Officer involvement. We as Peace Officers, through our training, experience and sometimes how and where we were raised, go to work each day with no clear picture of who our potential enemy will be for that shift. This fact combined with the fact that some sections of our society feel it is acceptable behavior to confront and attack Peace Officers simply because of the job they do and uniform they wear, makes an already tough profession even tougher.

But it’s not all deprivation and destitution in Oklahoma, like that OKC house. Why, right here in the old home town, we have an actual amusement park with the famous “FireBall” roller coaster. If you can handle the thrills and chills of a major roller-coaster ride, here’s POV video from start to finish. (0:53, coaster2coaster, on YouTube)
Wellll, okay, it’s called the “Kiddie Park,” and the ‘coaster is called “Little Fire Ball” – I don’t know if there’s a Big Fire Ball. This donation-supported wonderland has not been allowed to age. The merry-go-round has recently been rehabbed. Vandals have molested the rides, but the community undoes their damage every time. Not even Nature’s forces: there is a post in the park, with a mark at (asking Milady) 8 to 12 feet above the ground, showing where the waters rose to in the big flood of Oct ’86. (That’s when we were watching the news in Chicago and saw areal shots showing how the place had become three islands, and police were getting here to there by boat. Funny place, the dust bowl.) They hosed the park down, oiled and painted, and fired back up, I think by Summer ’87.
The Kiddie Park has been maintained, practically unchanged, since my grandfather took me there as a youngster, and is dear to the hearts of generations of folks who grew up here. And the parents who bought them popcorn and cotton candy and put them to bed at night all tuckered out. From that roller coaster ride.

Okay, in the interest of complete accuracy…

Not yet. Just yesterday I found a news photo of where the carousel was, and will be, but currently isn’t. Sad and bleak, but they expect it will be back before the park opens for the summer.
I’m not sure if I fully conveyed the picture on the Kiddie Park, btw. As the name suggests, everything is small scale for the small fry, including the ticket prices. The little boats ride, the little airplane ride, the little autos ride, the little cages ride, all making their little circles. The little choo-choo that follows tracks outside the kiddie park fence and circles the larger park was magical to me as a very young’n. Not exactly a high-speed bullet train, you could fall off of it and hardly have to run to catch up and get back on. Not that I ever did…!
The “real” amusement park was Bell’s, down in Tulsa. We’d get down there rarely. Best was when the State Fair was held next door. Bell’s was forced out of business by the city several years ago. They hoped to reopen elsewhere, but it hasn’t happened.
Back when crowds were pretty much safe. There were always a few greasers and thugs, but you never felt mobbed. Today… well, I’m no fan of large clots of humanity in any case. Excepting the Kiddie Park!

We had a small amusement park called Kiddieland when I was growing up.We went by it all the time,but I think we actually went about twice.The roller coaster was called the Little Dipper,and they had a pony ring and a boat ride with real water.The cotton candy was the best ever.Its long gone now,but I still think about it as I rive by the place where it was.

Ours was called Roseland, but we only got to go once or twice a summer. It was the Big Nuclear Family Event of the summer; the Big Extended Family Event was the huge reunion with all the aunts, uncles, cousins, and patriarch and matriarch of my mother’s clan. My father’s family didn’t speak, so I only found out about them by researching at Ancestry.com.

Just the “apes” part is of course not PC, harking as it does to the language of truly racist beliefs and attitudes of the past. “apes”? eek! trigger warning!! But I’ll bet, just a hunch mind you, but I’ll bet Pete would employ the same word just as readily for any-color group behaving in this way, and would not mean to include, say, Dr. Carson or Thomas Sowell or Lt Col Allen West. Any civilized person would feel the same about such conscienceless anarchy!
The ironicallike part, of course, is, these are not just any riotous mobs, but utterly racist mobs. They’re all about keeping the divisions churning and the racist group-identity think going. Despicable. Yet somehow not un-PC!
I liked the suggestion someone on Ace had, for when your Starbux barrista brings up the subject of race relations, as their timid VP suggested. Respond angrily with, “Race is a social construct! Why are you such a hater?” Not that I ever go to Starbux, but I liked it.

That’s a good one. There are people out there trying desperately to heal the racial divides and get us past it all. Raven Simone comes to mind. And they get nothing but trouble. Makes you wonder if we’ll ever get there.
Actually, I think all it would take is getting a black President who was *actually* interested in healing. That might do the trick. But we’re a long way from that.
