The Wisconsin governor continued his pivot toward the right in his CPAC speech Thursday, and the crowd loved it.
“Here in America there is a reason we celebrate the Fourth of July and not April 15th,” Walker said. “Because in America, we celebrate our independence from the government, not our dependence on it.”
Walker got an unexpected opportunity to flex his legendary anti-union muscles on stage when protesters interrupted his speech by shouting from the crowd.
“Those voices cannot drown out the millions of Americans who want us to stand up for the hardworking taxpayers,” Walker said to the protesters.

After DHS Vote, Democrats Publicly Bash One of Their Own
David Scott caught an earful after voting with the GOP on a short-term funding extension
Scott suddenly found himself on the receiving end of a tirade from Rep. Corrine Brown. “You are making a mistake!” Brown shouted, in full view of reporters. “The strength of the wolf is in the pack. You are voting with these damn Republicans! What is wrong with you?”
Scott pleaded that he had to vote for his constituents, only to find Rep. John Lewis on the other side of him, saying that he too had plenty of DHS workers in his district. Soon, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman G.K. Butterfield and Rep. Emanuel Cleaver joined the huddle, begging Scott to change his vote.
“I’m not voting with them,” Scott said, meaning Republicans. “I’m voting for my district.” Butterfield countered: “You’ve been here 16 years. You can explain.”

And Phil Robertson, I love ya man, but, what a cheap applause line. (Did not watch, just read about it.) No, you indecently long-haired, bearded old goat, you can’t blame the “hippies” for what generations before and after the “hippies” (that tiny, short-lived clique of longhairs, much less their multitude of poor imitators, wannabes, and like-a-look degenerates) worked so hard to accomplish. My parents’ generation was full of “Playboy” wantonness and the “liberalization” of “progressive” sexual culture (actually regression to immoral behaviors) was practiced aplenty in suburbia before Haight-Ashbury. One could even reach back to the “roaring twenties” for the origins of the popularization of immorality.
Having myself been suckered in badly by the “sexual revolution,” with a consequent garage full of regrets (mostly about how women were treated), I think it’s important that the true perpetrators of the debauchery get the blame. Regressives, Communists, and of course their diabolical inspiration are a much broader coalition than just hippies.
Okay, rant mode off. Maybe I can watch Phil now.
