The new GOP Congress

2015_01 Home from Hawaii

“The days of hiding under Harry Reid’s desk are over.” Charles Krauthammer

During the past eight years of Democrat rule, Harry Reid concentrated the power of the U.S. Senate in his office.  The newly elected Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), says he is going to return to the traditional business model whereby all the Senators actually do their jobs.

Obama likes to present himself as this fearless leader, but his record of voting Present or being absent for important votes in the U.S. and Illinois Senates exposes that as a fraud.  Reid’s policy of sitting on any legislation Obama didn’t want to sign allowed the big baby to avoid taking a stand on anything.  Now that the GOP holds the majority in the House and Senate, Obama will finally have to fish or cut bait.  I expect a nervous breakdown any day now.

And then they came for your kid

CPS steals your kids

State governments are stealing kids out of good homes and the federal government is subsidizing it.

“According to the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect (NCCAN) in Washington, the calculated average is for every 1 child removed from an abusive home, there are 17 children removed from loving non-offending homes nationwide.”  http://www.politichicks.com/2015/01/untold-story-destruction-families-hands-cps/

Our strict child abuse laws give government agencies tremendous latitude when it comes to protecting children, then pays states that have successfully removed children from “dangerous” (as defined by them) homes.

Like Reagan said, if you subsidize something you’re going to get more of it.

We’d like to think that the people charged with protecting children from abusive parents were all angels. But the fact is that power corrupts and a lot of these people were no angels to begin with.

So … let’s say I have the power to accuse you of child abuse and remove your kid without warning or due process.  And let’s say I don’t like you.  Maybe you are trying to expose me for the scumbag that I am.  Or maybe I just don’t like your politics or your religion or the fact that your house is nicer than mine.  What could be worse than having your child legally kidnapped and your reputation ruined?  How about having your child forced into a medical treatment you oppose and/or placed in a foster home of dubious quality and/or force fed values you abhor while you are denied visitation?  How about if you lose all your parental rights and your child is sent away, maybe to be adopted or maybe to be sold into sex slavery?

Don’t think I’m exaggerating. It happens.

I personally watched court-sanctioned medical abuse happen 30 years ago when a doctor I went to had his 3-year-old forcibly removed from the home by an armed sheriff.  Before they could get their little boy out of the foster care system, they had to agree to chemotherapy for him.  This isn’t hearsay. It happened in my community to a family I know personally. The really horrific part is that the child’s oncologist told the court that the all-natural treatment the parents had chosen over the best chemo available for the boy’s cancer was no better than the chemo. Studies had shown the two to be equal in outcome.  He told the court that he agreed with the parents’ decision, but the non-medical people – a sheriff, a CPS thug and a judge – decided that this health professional’s decision to “deprive” his son of chemotherapy was “abuse”!

Fighting Back With Social Media

No family can stand alone against this taxpayer-funded Government Goliath.  The Pelletiers on their own spent a bundle and got nowhere. But after ordinary folks got involved via social media, Justina was finally sent back home and was even interviewed on FOX News. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/06/28/justina-pelletier-says-no-one-should-go-through-her-ordeal/

We must stand with them in power and in prayer.

One avenue for joining the fight is to join the Miracle Team, a group banded together to work for change in the system and to pray for and help emotionally and financially support families unjustly broken by government agencies.  https://amiracle42sisters.wordpress.com/

First, congratulations to BoB on the impending arrival of her first grandchild. If I knew grandchildren were so much fun I’d have tried to have them first!

It’s still below zero and there’s a snowstorm heading this way this afternoon. I look out the window and remember dealing with a cold-blooded diesel truck and shivering so badly from the cold I could barely steer the damn thing straight. Then I look out the window, sipping my coffee and contemplating taking a little nap. Retirement ain’t all that bad.

My sister sent me a five day weather forecast from her city. She lives in Phoenix. It’s going to be in the 80s every day. I hate my sister.

After more than 20 years together,I think DW likes to push my buttons on purpose. I got home this morning and poured myself a bowl of Rice Krispies for breakfast. She had put the jug back in the fridge with two teaspoons of milk left in it. A normal person would have emptied it,rinsed the container out and put it in the recycle bin and opened another gallon. I got a snap and a crackle, but there was no pop.
