Pope Saint John Paul II … what a guy! :0)

JPII skiing

During one of his clandestine ski excursions, a young boy noticed the Pope and began shouting “The Pope, the Pope!” The priest accompanying the Holy Father told the youngster, “Don’t be silly! …” —before they rushed back to their car and bolted to the Vatican. On another occasion, a boy of about eight seemed to be watching the Holy Father, who kept smiling back at him. Eventually, the youngster approached him and asked, “Are you the Pope?” John Paul’s reply? “Yes, do you want to ski with me?” The two went up the ski lift and down the mountain a number of times. After one of their runs, the boy yelled to his mother, who was sitting in a chair at the bottom of the slope, “Mom, did you know I’m skiing with the Pope?” The mom simply grinned and shook her head at the boy’s overactive imagination. Later in the morning, John Paul decided to pay a visit to the mother, who an eyewitness described as “flabbergasted.”

Bristol Palin tells her side of the story

Sarah posted this at her Facebook: I understand that the CNN host who laughed at my daughter describing her assault has issued an apology to Politico. Why Politico needs an apology is anyone’s guess. No one at CNN contacted my family regarding an apology, in case you were wondering. … I’d like to say shame on the media and those on the left laughing at her or at any young woman in a similar situation, but I no longer think they have any shame.

Palin kids and grandkids

Excerpt from Bristol’s blog:

I have mostly stayed out of the public eye for the past few years. I clock in and out of work – yes I actually have a job – like most middle class Americans and chip away at making my son’s life just a little bit easier. So why does the media still choose to put the Palins into an entirely different category of people? This “story” is still running over a month and a half later. Rumors still run wild, unsubstantiated claims are printed as true, and random people who weren’t even there are considered “eye witnesses.”

In the meantime, did you even hear about Vice President Joe Biden’s adult son who kicked out of the Navy for cocaine? (That’s the real Vice President’s kid…) So pause for a moment and consider the hysteria over our stupid “incident”, compared to our actual Vice President’s son not even being able to hold on to a position in the Navy Reserve.

I’m sure you heard the happy news that Chelsea Clinton had a baby. But did you know her father-in-law and Clinton family pal Edward Mezvinsky is a convicted felon because of committing bank, wire, and mail fraud?

Of course, you didn’t. Because the friends and family of the revered liberal elite are treated like delicate China. Don’t handle too roughly. They are precious. They are off limits. Don’t push on them too hard.

In the meantime, I was pushed and held down by some guy… and the media salivates like a dog that’s just been given a bone.

Here’s the thing. Violence against women is never okay… Even if that violence occurs against conservative women. Imagine for a second the outrage that would happen if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pushed by some guy. Had she tried to defend herself, the liberal media would’ve held her up as some feminist hero.

But it wasn’t Chelsea.

It wasn’t Hillary.

It wasn’t someone they liked or someone they agreed with.

It was a conservative.

And once again, the hypocrisy of the media is laid bare.

Canada On Its Knees

The following is a brief excerpt from Gavin McInnes’ piece in Taki’s Magazine about recent terror in Ottawa, and the total paralysis that has followed, which is not much different from our own. Mr. McInnes is an English-born-from-Scottish-parents, Canadian Ex-pat who usually writes from New York. Mild language warning.

Terror In CanadaI’m in Toronto right now guest-hosting a show on Sun News called Straight Talk. Thank God. The Canadian media have been dominated by the CBC since the 1930s and they make MSNBC look like Fox. When the Sun came out in 2011, it introduced the possibility that liberals might be full of shit and the entire country had a heart attack. This is the nation where a human rights commission will sue you personally for hate speech, even if what you said is true. They’ve sued Ezra Levant several times and he’s the most popular host on the network.

It’s the only sane place in Canada to be right now, which is why I felt so lucky to be at Sun headquarters when jihadist Michael Zehaf-Bibeau assassinated Cpl. Nathan Cirillo at Canada’s National War Memorial on Wednesday.

Generations of multicultural pandering have turned Canadians soft, and even before the shooting we were hearing about how crucial it is to reserve judgment regarding Islam. On Monday morning, another radicalized nut job, Martin Couture-Rouleau, assassinated Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent by smashing into him with his car. Instead of getting angry, Canadians called for tolerance. They refused to call the terrorist a terrorist and insisted it was some poor, disenfranchised youth who was mad at us for taking too long to renew his passport. Toronto Star reporter Tonda MacCharles asked the RCMP commissioner if Couture-Rouleau had been frustrated in an attempt to leave, perhaps? Yeah, that’s it. It’s our fault for inconveniencing him. We refused his renewal because we saw him as a potential danger. What are we supposed to do, let him go train in Syria so he can come back and build bombs with aplomb? Read more at Taki’s Mag.

Ten Buck Friday – Week Eight of the Coming Democrat Trainwreck

Ten Buck Briday Democrat Trainwreck
Week Eight of a Nine Week Mission, to Seek new life for the Senate, to Boldly send Harry Reid empty handed back to Searchlight!

Those of us who are paying attention have seen positive trends on the majority, if not all, of our Ten Buck Friday candidates. In the words of that noted political analyst, Han Solo: “Don’t get cocky!”

Focusing on the Senate races, is it worth ten bucks a week to you (a paperback book and a biscotti?) to eliminate Reid’s control and give the Senate responsible leadership again?

With that in mind, this week we look to the Senate seat in New Hampshire. Can you contribute just $10 to Senate candidate Scott Brown ?

Real Clear Politics has Brown down by 1.6 (up 3 points from a week ago) but rates the race as a toss up.

You can contribute to Scott Brown here. Good luck and Godspeed, Scott!

Also consider these other important close races!
Contribute to Cory Gardner (CO) Here
Contribute to Tom Cotton (AR) Here
Contribute to Joni Ernst (IA) Here
Contribute to Bill Cassidy (LA) Here
Contribute to Thom Tillis (NC) Here

If you are unable to make a contribution, you can help the candidate(s) tremendously by encouraging friends, family, neighbors and/or co-workers to vote. Volunteer your valuable time. Put up a campaign sign in your yard. Make sure you go to the polls. We cannot afford to sit this election out.

(If you mark your contribution as “Ten Buck Friday”, they’ll see if the blogosphere can give them a little bump.)
