Old Christopher Columbus has been replaced,at least in the liberal armpit known as Seattle, with ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Day.’

Give Seattle Back to the Indians
Last Monday the Seattle City Council unanimously passed a resolution declaring the second Monday of October Indigenous People’s Day. The resolution pledges that it is city policy to “participate in the annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebrations and activities,” it “encourages Seattle Public Schools to include the teaching of indigenous people’s history,” “encourages other businesses, organizations, and public institutions to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day,” and “firmly commits to continue its efforts to promote the well-being and growth of Seattle’s American Indian and Indigenous community.”

Michelle Obama called Bruce Braley ‘Bruce Bailey.’
It’s been a rough campaign for Rep. Bruce Braley (D), who is running for the U.S. Senate in Iowa. It got a bit worse Friday when first lady Michelle Obama campaigned for him.

First, she called him “Bruce Bailey.” (Bill Clinton also recently made the same mistake.) Then she said he was a Marine Corps veteran. (He’s not.)

Iowa Democrat mocks Iowa farmers … yeah, that’ll work. NOT.

Sheesh, Pete … expecting Mooch to actually read the man’s bio CAREFULLY. It is true that his bio does include the words “Marine veteran” … but it was his father, not him. And he was no veteran of anything but high school when he went to college. He was born in 1957, which makes his B.A. in 1980 and his J.D. in 1983 a case of “going straight through.” A Marine veteran would have had to put in at least 4 years after high school, like 2 of my kids did, before going to college.

The Clinton Papers: Elena Kagan paid off with Supreme Court seat?

According to a section on Kagan, a Washington, D.C., lawyer, she served in the Clinton White House as a associate counsel to the president in 1995-96 and then deputy assistant to the White House Domestic Policy and then deputy director of the Domestic Policy Council (DPC) from 1997-1999. While Justice Kagan performed duties with regard to AIDS, budget appropriations, campaign finance reform, education, health, labor, race, tobacco, Native Americans, and welfare, her most important job was the handling a lawsuit brought against President Bill Clinton by a woman who claimed then Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton had sexually harassed her.

    Obama’s November Surprise

After this election, there is no reason for him to hold back. His mission is to flood America’s electorate with Hispanics and the newly entitled. He will try to buy off a chunk of the middle class with ObamaCare. Welcome to the permanent Democrat majority! In 2017, he will pass the baton to the new Democrat president with new firsts, new promises and new lies.
if this writer has any of this right, and I ‘m afraid he does,Obama will be out of control during the lame duck.

‘Black People Getting Shot Left and Right’
Are black people getting shot left and right by police officers and vigilantes?

In the St. Louis area in 2014 so far, there have been about 172 murders and 8 “law officer involved shootings”. Here is a map. The light blue balloons are the law officer-involved shootings. (Yellow are St. Louis city murders, red are St. Louis County, and blue are Illinois.)

President Obama today played golf for the 200th time of his presidency, a milestone that for many is emblematic of a president who has frequently seemed detached from his job, his colleagues in Washington, and the American people.

Sympathizers with Obama’s golf obsession say he needs the time on the links to relax. If that were true, one would think that, as a newly elected president in 2009 and as a candidate in 2012 juggling the horrendous pressure of running the country and seeking reelection, his golf would have increased.

House candidate complains that female GOP opponent hasn’t “worked manually
We touched on the rather strange goings on in New York’s 21 congressional district race last weekend, but the fascinating candidate put up by the Democrats just keeps bringing me back to the well. Millionaire filmmaker Aaron Woolf met up with his opponent, Republican small businesswoman Elise Stefanik for a debate this week. In the midst of the action, he suddenly popped up with an observation which left everyone scratching their heads.

“I don’t know if you have ever worked manually for a living like I have and I’m certain that [Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello] probably has-I don’t know if you can say something to a 49-year-old who’s working with their body-with their hands-it’s very different thing than sitting behind a desk and operating a computer.”
I don’t even want to hear:what if it were a republican making those outrageous comments?WE all know.

A consumer’s guide to the final weeks of Campaign 2014
Two narratives have competed for attention since Campaign 2014 got underway.

One says, rightly, that the political environment favors the Republicans. Voters are unhappy. Most of the competitive races are in red states. President Obama’s approval ratings are weak. Democrats usually struggle to get their voters to the polls in midterm elections.

The second narrative says: Hold on, it’s not over yet. The reasons? Democrats have some popular issues on their side, from raising the minimum wage to their positions on women’s issues. Republicans have to beat a bunch of Democratic incumbents to win the six seats needed to take control in January. Some Democratic candidates have outperformed expectations.

Iowa Senate Candidates Tell George Stephanopoulos to Stay Home

That fact that North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis agreed to have George Stephanopolous moderate his most recent debate with Kay Hagan (and Norah O’Donnell from CBS moderate the first), makes me question his judgment. In Iowa, however, both the Republican and Democrat Senate candidates wisely told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos to stay home.

For the life of me,I will never understand WHY the republicans allow the media whores to moderate any debates when they know going in they’re going to try to trip them up to help the democrat.Remember Candy Corowsfoot in 2012.

Renewable Energy Protest Fails After Solar Battery Can’t Fill Up Balloon

The MacIver Institute reported: Demonstrators gathered outside the Public Service Commission to protest against a requested rate structure change by the local utility company, Madison Gas and Electric (MG&E). During the protest, they decried the use of “dirty coal” and called for more renewable energy. To make their point, they had a blow-up coal power plant that was running on a fan powered by wind and solar charged batteries. Before the protest was over, however, the batteries died and their solar panel could not produce enough energy to keep the power plant standing upright.

    Clinton heckled in San Diego
Hillary Clinton was heckled by a man with a bullhorn at a speech in San Diego late Sunday.

The man sounded an alarm on the device in the middle of Clinton’s speech to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Clinton flinched and stopped speaking as the shouting man was quickly taken away by security.

Clinton, who was speaking about early childhood development, came back with a joke.
“You know there are some people who miss important developmental stages,” she said.

Five will get you ten he was a plant.
I don’t take anything about the Klintoons at face value.

Black teenagers 21 more times likely to be shot by police than white, study finds

Between 2010 and 2012, black males between the ages of 15 and 19 were killed at a rate of 31.17 per million, according to an analysis by ProPublica. For white teenagers, the rate dropped to 1.47 deaths per million.
Nowhere in this article does it state that black males from 15-30 make up less than 3% of the population but commit 70% of the violent crime. That may have something to do with these statistics.
That, plus the fact they show no reservation for shooting at police.

Sharpton friend and gambling company owe $72M in taxes: authorities

An associate of the Rev. Al Sharpton who is trying to open a glitzy upstate casino is an accused tax deadbeat — joining another pal of the preacher and the rev’s own National Action Network as targets of tax collectors.

Alabama authorities claim that Greenetrack and its CEO, Luther Winn Jr., owe $72 million in sales taxes and interest from electronic bingo game revenue in its betting facilities in that state.

I stole this from Bluebird on FB:

  20. “In a new world, a history was written,” said Obama’s proclamation, required by a 1934 Congressional Joint Resolution. “It tells the story of an idea – that all women and men are created equal – and a people’s struggle to fulfill it.

“And it is a history shared by Native Americans, one marred with long and shameful chapters of violence, disease, and deprivation,” Obama said.

    Weasel Zippers

Earlier today, on SOME site, I read quoted a great article by a “Native American, basically saying, without the Europeans, ancestors wouldn’t be much advanced nor would they have the religion of our Father’s love. Unfortunately, I cannot find it again. The perfect counterpoint to the Community Disorganizer in Chief’s racist spew.

Before I read that, here’s what I commented on Ace of Spades (always funny to quote oneself, but easier than re-writing) along those same lines:

    Happy AmerIndian Cultural Uplift Day

Today, descendants of the tribes that occupied North America before Columbus enjoy all the benefits of the combined cultures of the whole world, most especially the health, wealth, and comfort from centuries of progress in the USA. Their ancestors would gladly trade the life they had for a modern middle-class American home and job.

And it all goes back to a captain who was bad at geographic math.

    I got this interesting reply:

… the author of “Roots” (Alex Haley) was once asked during a program showing video of suffering in Africa if he wished that his ancestors had never been brought to this continent as slaves.

“And Alex Haley said, in a low, serious voice: ‘Every time an American black sees a story like that, they should find a Confederate flag and kiss it. Because there,’ he pointed to the sad scene on the screen, ‘would be me and my descendants, except for American slavery. I thank God that my family and I are here instead of there!'”

    Yeah. “Violence, disease, and deprivation.”
