After hearing from the public, two Honolulu city councilmen dropped plans to name a popular beach after Barack Obama who body surfed there as a boy.

Previously, Obama’s other home town, Chicago, got an earful from their public and dropped plans to name a school after him.

The victory of the Holy League at the Battle of Lepanto prevented the Ottoman Empire from expanding further along the European side of the Mediterranean. Some historians argue that a Turkish victory could have led to Western Europe being conquered.
