Obamacare is working (for some)

Obamacare was marketed as a win-win for all consumers, but numerous national surveys consistently show that twice as many have been directly harmed by it as have been helped.

2014_06 Obamacare and hate

Democrats promised Americans that Obamacare would reduce “everybody’s” rates by $2,500 per family. Instead, back in the real world, premiums have continued to climb ever higher. Many consumers have experienced double-digit increases.

Democrats also promised Americans could keep their health care plans and doctors. This has proved manifestly untrue. Millions have lost their preferred health plans and caregiver arrangements as a direct result of Obamacare, with millions more to come.

Holder resigns Fast and Furiously

2014_09 27 Holder resigning

Note to self: never start a post when you’re so upset. Your emotions cloud your judgement and you end up with incoherent crap. I’d delete the whole post except I put so much work into it that it would seem a waste. Maybe there’s something worthwhile there, you have to judge. I owe you the best I have every day and sometimes, like they say,you got the words and you ain’t got the music. I have plenty of goofy stuff so I decided to put it in a separate post so it’s easier to pick stuff out.

As most of you know, Fridays are normally reserved for showcasing the offbeat, the bizarre, discussion of various body parts and the overall stupidity by some members of our species. Originally I planned to do just that when I got up this morning. But several things have happened that for some reason really, really set my hair on fire.
I generally do not post articles about black on white violence because it is so commonplace. Hannah Graham lost her life to a dreadlocked pile of garbage. A woman in New York was raped and after staggering a block begged another black for help. He raped her too. How many times have you seen stories of white victims of the perverse ‘knockout game’ they amuse themselves with?
I take most of it with a grain of salt and just thank God I live the life I do,with very little contact outside of family and a few people at the newspaper depot.
A deranged contract worker in Aurora,Ill. set a fire at the Air Traffic Control Center and it halted all flights in and out of Chicago’s O’Hare and Midway airports. It will take most of the day before flights can resume. D’ya think ISIS is taking notes on how to attack us?
I could continue this rant, but I’ll save it for the comment section. I will try my best to be as civil as possible out of respect for you,but no promises. Sometimes you just gotta let it out.

a sane person would stop right here

Ten Buck Friday – Week Four of the End of Harry’s Joy Ride

Week Four of a Nine Week Mission, to Seek Out new life for the Senate, to Boldly Throw Out clueless Harry Reid!!
Focusing on the Senate races, is it worth ten bucks a week to eliminate Reid’s control and give the Senate responsible leadership again? That’s the cost of a single margarita at Pistol Pete’s Radiator Repair, Brazilian Wax Emporium and Cantina.

Our candidates are being seriously outspent in the homestretch. From Political Clown Parade:

Data compiled by The Wall Street Journal indicates, “Since July 3, the largest Super PACs aligned with Democrats have raised four times the money of pro-GOP Super PACs, and have now spent $60 million to Republicans’ $38 million. And, it’s not just on the Super PAC side.”

“The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee doubled the fundraising haul of its Republican counterpart in August and had an almost $10 million cash edge heading into the fall. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee ended August with a $5 million lead over the National Republican Senatorial Committee. And, Republican strategists closely watching ad spending in key Senate races acknowledge that they are being outspent—in some cases badly—on TV. In Colorado, for example, Democrats and their allied groups dropped over $1 million on TV ads in the first two weeks of September; Republicans spent just over $300,000.”

“North Carolina and, until recently, Iowa are other examples of where Democrats have used their spending edge to boost their candidates. And, that advantage will get even more important in October. Democrats’ early money allowed them to reserve air time at lower rates while Republicans are just now doing that.”

With that in mind, this week we look to the open Senate seat in NC. Real Clear Politics has Tillis up 1.0 points on the average, and rates the state as a toss up.
