Another Democrat Doubles Down on Dumb

Montana has one House seat and two Senate seats in the U.S. Congress. The House seat and one of the Senate seats will be changing hands as a result of the November 2014 election, because no incumbents are running. The current Montana rep, Republican Steve Daines, is running for the Senate seat whose Democrat incumbent is retiring.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid hand-picked Democrat John Walsh to run against Daines for the Senate seat. Walsh’s campaign imploded after the New York Times revealed Walsh had plagiarized his master’s thesis. The Montana Democrat Party replaced Walsh with Amanda Curtis.

Meet Amanda Curtis [1:49]

Three weeks ago, Rasmussen Reports had the Senate race polling at +20 points to Daines. Things aren’t much better for the House seat. Republican Ryan Zinke (former Montana State Senator and retired Navy Commander) is running against Democrat John Lewis (former top aide to Montana Senator Max Baucus). Real Clear Politics assessment is that “the national climate doesn’t favor the Democrats right now, so Zinke is the clear favorite.”

On July 8, 2014, Democrat John Lewis released his plan to clean up Congress by cutting member salaries if they didn’t pass a joint budget resolution.

Isn’t that a really spectacular idea … to punish members of Congress in the wallets if they don’t do their JOBS?!

Well, yes, as a matter of fact, it is … which could be why Republican Representative Steve Daines introduced the Balanced Budget Accountability Act of 2013 and co-sponsored the No Budget, No Pay Act of 2013 to … cough, cough … cut member salaries if they didn’t pass a joint budget resolution.

In other words … yet another Montana Democrat candidate has been caught plagiarizing important stuff and … cough, cough … the guy he ripped off is the Republican candidate for Senate.

BABY So much stupid

Elitism and school lunches

I think nothing quite shows the elitist mentality underpinning the Obamacrats’ “Rules for thee but not for me” gestalt better than the lunch restrictions mandated by Michelle Obama for public school kids versus the lunches her own daughters actually consume at their expensive private school.

Since Michelle’s federal school lunch overhaul was implemented, students and parents have been complaining that the food is unappetizing and the servings too skimpy, particularly for high school athletes and rapidly growing teen boys.  If schools don’t ask for federal reimbursement on their lunches, they can serve whatever they want. Many schools that can afford to forgo the federal reimbursement have done so.

However, recently even the less affluent schools have started to dump the federal menus because they have realized they aren’t selling enough lunches to qualify for the reimbursements anyway.  School nutritionists say the allegedly “healthier” mandated restrictions make it virtually impossible to prepare meals that students will actually eat. One estimate suggests that $1 billion worth of food has gone into the garbage PER YEAR since the allegedly “healthier” mandates started.

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama’s daughters eat the #1 ranked school lunches in the country at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. If Michelle’s federal lunch standards are so HEALTHY, then why do her daughters get to eat stuff like Breadsticks & Cheese, BBQ Wings, and Black Bean & Tortilla Casserole (Tuesday, September 2, 2014 menu) and Freshly Baked Muffins, Tuna Pasta Salad, and Pizza (Wednesday, September 3, 2014 menu)?

Is Islam more violent?

On September 4, 2014, CNN host Don Lemon hosted a panel to address the topic: “Is Islam more violent than any other faith?” Seriously. He really did that.

One panelist predictably brought up the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition AND the Conquistadors.

Amazingly, Lemon insisted the panel stick to MODERN TIMES.

The Crusades were wars fought in response to MUSLIM AGGRESSION against Christians in the 11th century, which was … let me think … 21 minus 11 … a LONG TIME AGO.

The Spanish Inquisition was also a really LONG TIME AGO; it lasted for 350 years and resulted in the total deaths by legal execution of 3,000 to 5,000 individuals who had been tried in a court, not shot in the face during a home invasion or blown up at their desks.  And … oh yeah … it was also in response to MUSLIM AGGRESSION.

The Conquistadors came to the New World 500 years ago, mostly seeking wealth and glory, not to force non-Christians to convert or die. The missionaries that accompanied them to spread their religion were peaceful men who established schools and stuff.

That poor CNN panel! They were left with nothing but the pathetic “anti-abortion terrorism” argument.

Uh, yeah. No.

Firstly, before blaming violence committed against abortion providers and abortion clinics as due exclusively to some not-Muslim religious motivation, you would have to first demonstrate that the perpetrator was not motivated by either a personal vendetta, insanity or a generalized will to maim and kill.

Hey. Fair is fair. After all, the Lefties said the Fort Hood shooter’s actions were “workplace violence” due to “secondary PTSD”, despite the fact he yelled “Allahu Akbar” while he fired on unarmed office workers and had oodles of extremist Muslim propaganda on his computer.  Those deaths are not included in the Wikipedia list of Islamic Terrorist Attacks that I used for the graphic below, while the Wikipedia list of Anti-Abortion Terrorist Attacks I used admits that the perp in a 1998 clinic bombing is believed to have also bombed Centennial Olympic Park in 1996 which I think seriously calls into question his allegedly “religious” motives for the clinic bombing.

Secondly, before blaming anti-abortion violence on religious zealotry, you would have to demonstrate that the perpetrator(s) of the violence had been motivated exclusively by teachings of an actual religion, in the same sense that Muslim extremists are following specific teachings from the founder of Islam and as laid out in their holiest book, the Koran. Violence perpetrated by disturbed individuals following a cult leader don’t quality.

All the leading religious leaders and pro-life organizations CONDEMN violence, even to stop abortion. But you can find any number of Muslim clerics going Rah Rah about ISIS shooting people in the face and kidnapping their daughters for sex slavery.

ALL that being said, you would still have the teensy weensy problem of BODY COUNT. Even ignoring all deaths in active extremist Muslim aggression war zones, you still have a staggering number of innocent civilian victims of pure, out and out MUSLIM terror.
