I want to personally thank all of you for remembering our family in your prayers. Through the tears we remained strong through our love of God and family. We chose to celebrate rather than mourn what cannot be changed. I met one of my cousins and his new wife….they’ve been married 29 years. He has 5 sons,1 daughter and more grandchildren than I do. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Top Israeli Envoy: Clearly, John Kerry Was Not Invited to Ceasefire Talks

But…but…but didn’t they hear?John F’in Kerry served in Viet Nam.He married not one,but two rich heiresses. What other qualifications does he need?

I cannot imagine any U.S. Secretary of State being IGNORED re: Israeli peace talks before! The United States has been Israel’s bulwark! If anything is a sign of the success of Barack Obama’s campaign to degrade the United States from the number one moral leader and military power in the world to “just another nation”, this has to be it.

UW-Madison policy calls on professors to distribute grades based on race
The policy, named the “Framework for Diversity and Inclusive Excellence,” calls for “proportional participation of historically underrepresented racial-ethnic groups at all levels of an institution, including high status special programs, high-demand majors, and in the distribution of grades.”

“Under the ‘equity’ policy, it seems that some of those who want to study this field would be told that they’ll have to choose another major because computer science already has “enough” students from their ‘difference’ group.”

And employers across the country are adding this to their in-house HR files: “Toss out all resumes that list a degree from UW-Madison.”

White House: Obama Won’t Cancel His Three Day Dem Fundraising Trip Tomorrow…

The only concession he’s made is to cancel a taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Show. His handlers felt joking while the world was burning would be “bad optics.”

Planned Parenthood plans $3 million Texas campaign
The political arm of Planned Parenthood expects to spend $3 million to support Texas Democrats in the 2014 general election, a move that has raised concerns from anti-abortion activists about whether they can match that sort of money in fight to attract women voters.

    I Need Some White Privilege’
There’s a woman who believes she’s been slighted in life by “white privilege,” and she started a crowdfunding campaign to make up the difference in earnings that she feels she’s entitled to.

So far, in 7 days she’s gotten 294 donations, raising just shy of $5000. Her end goal is to raise $135,000, which she calculated by averaging her work history with what she feels is the estimated rate of monetary disadvantage.

Somebody figured out how to cash in on white guilt!

The 36 states without state exchanges cannot be subsidized by the feds.

Today’s Court Ruling On Obamacare Subsidies Frees More Than 57 Million Americans From Individual And Employer Mandates…
If the Supreme Court refuses to take the case or upholds the Circuit Court’s ruling Obamacare is toast.

The question is,will Roberts sell out the country again?
And if he doesn’t,will Barky just ignore the courts ruling?

WH Spokesman Josh Earnest: Administration Will Ignore Today’s Court Ruling on Obamacare (Video)

    I guess that answered that.
‘This ruling does not have any practical impact on their ability to receive tax credits right now. Right now there are millions of Americans all across the country who are receiving tax credits from the federal government as a result of the Affordable Care Act. While this ruling is interesting to legal theorists it has no practical impact on their tax credits right not.”

Residents of the city of Mound, MN are dealing with a similar sewer backup situation as Bob…saw it on the news last night. The city denied every claim, so the townspeople went to the media! It made me wonder about Bob’s situation. Last I heard, Bob was busy prepping for a city council meeting. Then I got really busy, and haven’t been cruising the comments as much since then. Did I miss an update? Bob, how did it go?

    • The presentation went rather well. We had a good turnout, and we projected strength and solidarity — which we really needed to do, given that we are negotiating from a position of weakness. The law, alas, is not on our side; laws are written by the ruling class, for the ruling class, and they protect their own. So our approach has to center on making the moral case for the city compensating us for the damage, appealing to their consciences (if they have any), and exhorting them to do the right thing. Really, even from a politician’s point of view, it would be a win for the city — council members could even campaign for re-election on it — with a slogan like “This city looks out for its people” or something along those lines.

Several of the neighbors took part in the presentation, showing pictures and video of the flooding and the damage, sharing personal experiences, etc. My husband, who has degrees in architecture and civil engineering, showed the council members photographs proving that failure to maintain the infrastructure (sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems) is what caused the backup (not “an act of God,” as the insurance company has insisted). I gave a rather caustic and impassioned speech, talking about the difference between legal obligation and moral obligation. If anyone is interested, I can post my speech for you to read. I worked on it for days and am rather proud of it. 🙂

  11. I’m the clumsiest guy at funerals; I never learned the Words To Say in tragic times; but I read the post and I sympathize, Pete. “We chose to celebrate rather than mourn what cannot be changed.” Well said. It’s practically the only way to get through this life; at least, that’s all I have to cling to. Not that we don’t mourn, as well; it’s just… moderated.

  12. Re the “Jacob was a cheater” graphic:

As the list went on, I found, I wept. Aren’t we a troubled bunch! And yet…

“And Lazarus was dead” brought a 🙂 though. That wasn’t even his fault!

“As we forgive others” is relatively easy sometimesw compared to forgiving oneself.

“For the third time in eight days, Boston police were forced to intervene when a small group of student Israel supporters was swarmed by demonstrators screaming anti-Semitic epithets and initiating physical contact. … Among other things, the shouts included “Jews back to Birkenau” and “Drop dead, you Zionazi whores.”
