I didn’t hear about this before, so googled some context. Westboro came to tell the victims of the the massive tornado that devastated the town last year that they were phony Christians who had suffered God’s wrath.
The site they chose was the building housing the elementary school students since the tornado demolished their school. Such fine upstanding individuals, no? Screaming “you deserved this” to a bunch of little kids.
Still, I’m not one for approving mobs driving licensed protesters out of town though. Much as I despise these people and their message, there are them that despise us even more. The First Amendment is there to protect unpopular speech.
But dang … what brain dead bureaucrat gave them permission to protest in front of the SCHOOL?! Also, I saw two news stories that conflicted. One said they residents didn’t run the Westboro hypocrites off until after their permit expired. Another said they did it within 8 minutes of them starting their little protest.
The one group I am totally sympathetic with is the cops. Yeesh.

An unfortunate thing is occurring in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota. Despite the party’s convention being 54 days away, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) in Washington, D.C. is playing favorites and heavily assisting one of the candidates in the race as if Minnesotans have already made their decision.
The RNC feels it cannot risk the voters actually choosing their own candidate.

George Zimmerman jurors’ names released to public
I’ll bet attempts to reach them were unsuccessful. If I was one of those jurors and had been watching the treatment that Zimmerman, his family and anyone who failed to condemn him sufficiently have received, I’d be on my way to another state under an assumed name, if not another country. If this trial revealed anything useful about our society, it’s that there is no shortage of people who don’t feel particularly bound to the constitutional idea of trial by jury, and will endeavor to “set things to rights” if a decision doesn’t go the way they feel it should have.
Hope their life insurance is paid up.

There are at least 8 KFC’s in our city.There is one Chick-Fil-A across the street from the dealership where I bought my work car.I had lunch there for the first time while the dealer was finishing the paperwork.We were impressed with the cleanliness,the service and the quality of the food.We ate about 2PM,long after the lunch rush and the place was still packed.I can see why.The last KFC I ordered was a 3 piece dinner with taters and cole slaw and it was $10.00.For that kind of money I’ll drive out of my way and get a good sandwich.

Patrons are asked to stand for the National Anthem before a showing in our local movie theater. Today we took 40 children to a matinee. Our children (ranging from 5 to 12 years old) will stand, then without being asked, belt out our National Anthem with their hands on their hearts.
It gives you chills to see patriotism like this displayed in youth at such a young age. Our kids know what it is to have daily sacrifices for our country. They know no other life then the one they have, but they are happy children living happy lives.

Back in the day,our pastor drove a VW bug.We’d pick it up and put it between the back wall of the church and the utility pole that gave him about 6″ in front and back and was impossible to get out.We’d always move it back because we didn’t want to piss off God.
