Gore-acles and Fracktivists

2013 Al Gore FAIL

Truthland Trailer

About Truthland: Shelly and her husband own a dairy farm near Franklin Forks, Pennsylvania and they have gas wells on their property. Truthland is her story of how she answered several questions raised by Gasland. She travels the country seeking out the truth about Josh Fox’s claims, talking to experts ranging from John Hanger to Terry Engelder, visits a steel plant, discusses issues with landowners, learns why one shouldn’t smoke in the shower of some homes and even participates in some explosive tests of gas well casings. She asks questions, reports on what she learns and puts it all together from the perspective of a farm wife and mother with the same concerns any family would have. It’s authentic. It’s educational. It’s the antidote to a very flawed Gasland.

If you watched Gasland and believed any of it, you MUST watch Truthland.

Josh Fox, the star of Gasland, is continually depicted as a “gasland” local who nobly turned down $100,000 offered by a gas company to drill on his land. Josh Fox grew up in New York City. His parents were wealthy enough to own a vacation cabin and 19 acres in “gasland”, which Josh may have visited as a boy.

However, and this is important, the land is owned by Josh’s FATHER and it is too narrow and sloped for drilling. IOW, Josh flat out lied again and again and again about his history and motivation for making the movie. The fact is he has been paid more than $300,000 to bad mouth fracking.

By contrast, Shelley, the star of Truthland, is an actual native of “gasland” as well as a mom, grandmom, teacher and farmer’s wife. She and her family watched Gasland and were worried about the safety of the fracking. She wasn’t paid to do this documentary and neither were any of the people she interviewed.

Truthland is ABSOLUTELY WORTH a half hour of your time. If you have more time, watch FrackNation, which goes into some detail about who exactly is financing the anti-fracking movement. HINT: It ain’t banjo-playing good ol’ boys worried about the environment.

I thought this Twitchy post was about something meant to be satirical.

Then I went and read the original blog. I think these women … sorry womyn or maybe it’s femen now? … are dead serious.

    • Oh, Crissy, I remember reading this same sort of sh*t in college, back in the very late ’90’s . . . so dumb. These girls have serious emotional and mental difficulties that they refuse to face, and fail to realize that they are screaming their horribly brokenness to the world. It’s . . . terribly sad, more than anything. . .

Another good article on fracking safety. ” In the State of Michigan they have been using Fracking methods for over 60 years on thousands of wells, specifically in the northern part of the Lower Peninsula. And in the State of Michigan, there has not been one incident, where Fracking activities have had any impact on drinking water, ground water, or surface water.”

The Gore-acles must be freaking desperate. They put a white lab coat on Al Sharpton and had him do a piece on why climate deniers are STOOOPID. Maybe also racist. I dunno. I refuse to watch that man. But the snark at Twitchy is fun.
