SOP

2013_09 21 Obama-Kerry's expert fired for faked credentials

Both Senator McCain and SecState Kerry cited this “expert” woman’s opinions during their congressional testimony justifying Obama’s plan to bomb Syria.

SEN. MCCAIN: Secretary Kerry — John, over the weekend, the Wall Street Journal ran an important op-ed by Dr. Elizabeth O’Bagy — I hope you saw it — a Syria analyst at the Institute for the Study of War, spent a great deal of time inside Syria, including just this month. And I want to read her assessment of the situation on the ground. And I quote the story. … John, do you agree with Dr. O’Bagy’s assessment of the opposition?

SEC. KERRY: I agree with most of that.

Even more disturbing than her fake resumé is the previously undisclosed fact that O’Bagy has ties to a rebel advocacy group that is LOBBYING the U.S. government to intervene in Syria on the rebel’s behalf.

So, basically, she’s a total fraud. Oh wait … so are McCain and Kerry. Oh well. Lying and hypocrisy are just SOP when it comes to Obama Democrats. What’s that you say? McCain’s a Republican? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge I’d like to sell you.

Reliable sources

Pope Francis With Christ

I read this in one of my Facebook groups. With the American Left crushing on the allegedly ‘Democrat’ Pope over his ‘message to GOP’ (not), I thought it was especially timely.

If there’s one important life lesson my mother taught me, it was QUESTION EVERYTHING (and she meant EVERYTHING) – but get your answers FROM A RELIABLE SOURCE.

Want to know whether a certain medication, supplement, or food additive is safe or not?

  • Ask an unbiased chemist or, better yet, look it up in peer reviewed scientific journals.

Want to know what the Catholic Church teaches about a certain topic?

  • Ask a spiritually committed priest or, better yet, look it up in official Church documents.

Small and not-so-small miracles

Something a Facebook friend said today reminded me of this experience, so I thought I would share:

Tie Rod map

One time when it was my day for the car, I had just gotten off the highway and was stopped at a red light when I heard a “thunk” under me. When the light turned green, I pulled through the intersection into this very handy little shoulder place that was right there waiting for me, a place that was unusual on that stretch of road.

There was a service station right on the corner, so I hustled over and the mechanic said, “I had nothing to do, so I was just about to close early. You JUST caught me.” He came over to the car, got down and looked underneath, then stood up again and stared at me with goggle eyes.

“HOW did you get this car off the road?!” I mimed a steering motion. He said, “That’s not possible. That thunk you heard was the tie rod breaking off. It connects the steering wheel to the front tire. This car HAS NO STEERING.”

I shrugged and laughed. “They say God protects fools and children and I’m clearly not a child!” He had to TOW the car across the street to fix it, which he was able to do right then, having the time, the skills and all the necessary parts right on hand.

Even then, more miracles abounded. He didn’t take checks and my credit card was maxed out. But I did have an envelope full of hundreds of dollars in cash that I was taking to the bank. It was more than I needed for the car.

I couldn’t wait at the station, being mega allergic to all those hydrocarbons, but there was a mall close by, so he told me how many hours he needed and I went and had some lunch, ran a few errands, pondered my experience and bumped into a friend who asked, “How are you?”

“Alive!” I answered. It had taken a while to realize how PROTECTED I had been, not only to have the steering, mechanic and money, but also to have the tie rod WAIT to fall off until I was OFF the divided highway and safely STOPPED on what was (at that time) a quiet stretch of road.

It still gives me goosebumps.
