Majority of Americans are Pro-Life

TWO recent polls demonstrate that the MAJORITY of AMERICANS believe the UNBORN have a RIGHT to LIFE.

MAY 2013

2013_05 GALLUP Abortion poll

MARCH 2013

53%* of Americans are Pro-Life:

  • Abortion should be prohibited in all circumstances: 11%
  • Abortion should be legal only to save the life of the mother: 14%
  • Abortion should be legal only to save the life of the mother, or in cases of rape or incest: 28%
  • NOTE: Only one to three percent of all abortions in the U.S. are for life, rape, incest.

30%* of Americans are Pro-Choice:

  • Abortion should be legal for any reason but not after the first three months of pregnancy: 20%
  • Abortion should be legal for any reason but not after the first 6 months of pregnancy: 10%
  • NOTE: The large body of scientific and medical research indicates that by at least 20 weeks, unborn children are capable of feeling the excruciating pain of abortion. Once this fact is explained to them, a significant number of Pro-Choice Americans choose to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Acts that seek to outlaw these “torture until death” procedures. According to the CDC, approximately 1.27 babies are tortured to death per day in Texas alone, a state that is widely considered to be largely Pro-Life.

12%* of Americans are Pro-Abortion:

  • Abortion should be legal for any reason at any time during a woman’s pregnancy: 12%
  • NOTE: The official Democrat Party Platform on abortion not only takes this extremist, minority opinion, but goes even further to demand that all Americans PAY for abortions, regardless of their religious beliefs or conscience objections.

*National Poll of All Americans conducted by the Polling Company February 28-March 3, 2013 with 1,000 respondents and a 3.1% margin of error.

Interesting … according to this, Leno’s rate of anti-Obama jokes has kicked off a rise in his ratings.

Wow, Chrissy..that is pretty interesting. Abortion is an unspoken lie. It not only kills an innocent, but the potential for emotional trauma for the mother is a real issue that no one talks about. I am so happy about Texas’ win today. I am not sure if I mentioned that we are moving our entire family out of NY. I love my small town, my husband has worked his a$$ off to build a successful business, I love the beauty of the Catskill mountains, but I cannot at least try and give my kids a shot at living somewhere where the values that this country were founded on still exist. Of course, I would appreciate everyone’s prayers…this is probably the most difficult thing I have ever done. My heart is smiling for Texas today.

    • Kelly, you and your family will be in my prayers.

When my kid married a Texan, she agreed they’d live there and I, being the multi-generational, central NY snob I was, thought, “TEXAS? Ew.” Now that I’m older and wiser, I’m thinking, “TEXAS! Thank God!”

I had to laugh when a still-liberal gf went all screwy-face when I mentioned my dd was looking for work in Texas. I pretended to not see her negativity and said enthusiastically, “Isn’t it great?! Texas has the best job market in the country! They’re ranked number one for best environment for business and their population is growing. People are actually BUILDING HOUSES down there.” (So not like here. NY lost House seats; Texas gained.)

She. Had. No. Idea. It’s sad what the media has done to Americans. She’s a really good, very honest person. She just doesn’t get it that her media sources are filling her head with lies. To her credit, she didn’t stop being friends with us when my kids joined the military and we were pro-Iraq War and pro-Bush and had McCain and Romney signs in the yard. She even listened to the stories the kids told us about the real war, not the one the media was “reporting” (from the safe Green Zone, which were based on anti-American sources).
