Just to get this into perspective

Ted Cruz on Obamacare paperwork burden

Meeting the demands of Obamacare will ADD 190 million man hours worth of PAPERWORK every YEAR.

To get 190 million hours into perspective, consider the following:

  • Total time to build the Empire State Building: 7 million man hours.
  • Average productive time one person can work in a year: 2000 man hours.*
  • Average time to build a small, 1,000 square foot house: 500 man hours.
  • Average time to build a new car: 32 man hours.

*Actual man year hours world-wide range from a low of 1,389 hours (in the Netherlands) to a high of 2,316 hours (in South Korea).

Paperwork is a NON-productive labor cost that must be passed on to consumers or, in the case of Obamacare, passed on to taxpayers.

To understand this, consider a small medical office where, typically, the only income is generated by the doctor seeing patients.

  • This one doctor must earn enough from these visits to pay for his own salary, plus rent, utilities, insurance and a minimum of two extra office staff (a nurse and a secretary) who, themselves, do not generate any income.
  • Obamacare will force this doctor to hire additional staff to do all the extra paperwork.
  • The income for that extra staff will have to be generated by the only productive member of the staff … the doctor.
  • Meanwhile, Obamacare will enforce limits on how much a doctor can earn for each service.
  • Net result: Obamacare will increase a doctor’s office costs while decreasing his earning power.

Is it any wonder so many doctors are saying they will retire if Obamacare goes into full effect?

Yes, Virginia. Obamacare does include death panels

Well, duh. We all knew that. At least, those of us who were paying attention, as opposed to those who were drinking CØØL-AID.

Now it seems that prominent Democrat (former Vermont Governor, DNC Chairman) Howard Dean has published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal admitting Palin was right to oppose the Obamacare “Independent Payment Advisory Board.” The IPAB is exactly what Palin said.

IPAB: A panel of unelected, political appointees in D.C. with the power to decide who in America gets what health care treatment.

2013_07 Palin was right all along

Dean writes, “The IPAB is essentially a health-care rationing body. By setting doctor reimbursement rates for Medicare and determining which procedures and drugs will be covered and at what price, the IPAB will be able to stop certain treatments its members do not favor by simply setting rates to levels where no doctor or hospital will perform them.

There does have to be control of costs in our health-care system. However, rate setting — the essential mechanism of the IPAB — has a 40-year track record of failure. What ends up happening in these schemes (which many states including my home state of Vermont have implemented with virtually no long-term effect on costs) is that patients and physicians get aggravated because bureaucrats in either the private or public sector are making medical decisions without knowing the patients.”

The Right is delighted to see a prominent Dem like Dean making our case for us. Not that the Left cares. Obamacare never was about lowering health care costs or any of the other rainbow and unicorns crap they claimed it was about. It was, is and will continue to be about

  • increasing the power and wealth of elite Democrat politicians,
  • decreasing American freedoms with a top down control system, and
  • killing all those who are deemed unfit or inconvenient by those in power.

In short, it’s about destroying the FAITH, HOPE and CHARITY that have been the hallmarks of our Christian Constitutional Republic from its founding and replacing them with the HATE, DESPAIR and SELFISHNESS that are the hallmarks of the Atheistic Socialist Dictatorship the Left wants running America.

The debt bomb is ticking down to zero

The U.S. Treasury says FedGov is out of funds, so NATURALLY, Obama decided it was high time we sent the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank half a Billion dollars.

He had to circumvent Congress (again) to do it, which the lapdog media ignored (of course) and you can bet the money will wind up going to Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists, but what the hey. According to Obama, it was “necessary” for our “national security interests.” Riiiiiiiight.

His Secretary of State, John Kerry, thinks half a Billion wasn’t enough; he wants we should give those who live to wipe the U.S. and Israel off the face of the Earth a cool $4 Billion … yet the White House remains closed to tourists and my military kid’s been furloughed because … refer back to line one … the United States is BROKE.

But again, what the hey!  We should just raise the debt ceiling again. Right? And if those Eeeeeeeeeeeeeevil Raaaaaaaaaaaacist GOP bastards won’t vote for it, Barack Obama is prepared to NOT send Social Security checks to the disabled and old folks next week. So there!

Meanwhile, he and the girls are packing for yet ANOTHER multi-million dollar vacay cuz apparently their $100 million safari wasn’t enough of a break for one summer.

Proving they hate America

The Congressional Black Caucus (Motto: No Conservative Blacks or Whites Representing Majority Black Districts Allowed) have proposed pre-eminent House Negro, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, for Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

The cabinet-level position is being vacated this fall by the ever-incompetent Janet Napolitano, who demonstrated her ability to always do what she’s told to advance the Left’s wet dream of destroying America and has therefore been rewarded with a cushy position as president of the University of California.

For an analysis of Napolitano’s tenure as head of HHS, read http://www.upi.com/Top_News/Analysis/Outside-View/2013/07/30/Outside-View-Napolitanos-failing-Homeland-report-card/UPI-97761375157040/

Obama and Jackson Lee - Redefining incompetence

As a replacement, Jackson Lee would bring the same level of incompetence and immorality that Napolitano brought, but with the added bonus of being BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK. The following is just a sampling of her behavior since coming to Congress in 1995:

Feb 13, 2013: “I stand here as a freed slave because this Congress came together.”

Jackson Lee has a B.A. in political science from Yale no less, plus a law degree from the University of Virginia. You’d think between the two, she might have gotten a clue that black people stopped being legally defined as property many, many, many years before she was born and that it was due to the efforts of Republican presidents and Republican congresses that they have all the rights they’ve got.

July 15, 2010 to Congress: “Today we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working.”

Jackson Lee is a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and there is no North and South Vietnam anymore, only the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

July 15, 2010 to Congress: Bemoaning the loss of American lives in Vietnam, because “the leadership of this nation did not listen to the mothers and fathers who borned the burden of 58,000 dead.”

No doubt she means the Republican Nixon, who inherited the mess in Vietnam from the Democrat Kennedy-Johnson administrations. I can’t speak to how Gold Star moms and dads “borned” their burden. Is that Ebonics or just bad English … but I repeat myself.

Also in July 2010, Jackson Lee announced at the NAACP convention, amidst cheers, that Tea Partiers are nothing more than Ku Klux Klan members without their robes.

The KKK was founded by and filled with Democrats. Tea Partiers predominantly self-identify as either Republican or Independent.

February 2007: Jackson Lee ignored the Bush administration’s policy toward Chavez’ anti-American Socialist rule of Venezuela and traveled there as a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, which paid for the trip.

Venezuela supplies about 11 percent of America’s oil imports. Despite Chavez’ declared intention to take a majority stake of U.S.-run oil operations in the country, Jackson Lee declared he had many friends in the “new Congress”, referring to the take-over of the House and Senate in January 2007 by a Democrat majority that was openly hostile to the Bush administration.

Jackson Lee has also urged the U.S. to sell F-16 fighter jets and spare parts to Venezuela, which has close relations with Iran and Cuba.

Jackson Lee sits on the House Committee on Homeland Security and on the Subcommittees on Border, Maritime, and Global Counter terrorism, Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection, Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security, and Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law.

2005: On a visit to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Jackson Lee asked if the Mars Pathfinder had photographed the American flag Neil Armstrong planted in 1969. Reportedly, the embarrassed guide replied simply that this had not been possible, since that flag is on the Moon while the Mars Pathfinder was on Mars.

Jackson Lee has been the Democrat representative for Houston, where NASA is based, since 1995. At the time of this faux pas, she was also serving on the House Science Committee.

Struggle Can Make Us Strong

The theme of my faith reading this morning was that Satan uses feelings to pull us away from the facts of faith and we need to resist this. Last night, I felt an attack of fear and rebuked it; it subsided and I think this morning’s reading helped confirm that I acted correctly and experienced what I thought I experienced.

As I was feeding the dogs, I noticed the kibble and canned foods are both low and I began to feel afraid again, worrying about the future, about whether He will Rapture us before or after the debt bomb blows and life in the USA goes all to pieces.

Thank God Trust God

He took my attention off my fear and put it on the dogs’ dishes, where I was mixing their wet and dry food together. A piece of kibble suddenly flipped out of Dewey’s bowl and into Daisey’s. As I reached to put it back, I realized the dogs could not have seen the kibble flip out, only my hand moving a piece of “Daisey’s” food to Dewey’s bowl.

From their point of view, what I did wasn’t FAIR and they’re both very keen on goodies being handed out fairly. That’s so much like how we act with God. Even when we know in our heads that we don’t know the whole picture, we still react emotionally to perceived slights as if we do know. And we feel all kinds of put upon and waste time singing the pity party anthem.

As I finished feeding the dogs and making my own breakfast, God reminded me of all the times that He has shown me in powerful ways that HE IS IN CHARGE. I just need to not let bad feeling shout over my faith knowledge.

I got this story in my email today. I’ve heard it before, but it felt so amazingly appropriate for me today.

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.

Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Struggle can make us strong.

When God sends a struggle, we must trust in His plan, knowing that He knows best. We must not waste time whining about fairness or why me, but simply say as often as necessary, “I trust God and rebuke these bad feelings in the Name of Jesus.”
