I wonder how many little kids are pushed into potty training before they’re ready for it because of that rule. Potty training is so much easier and less traumatic for both parent and child if you wait until the child is ready.

I watched a documentary that proved cuddling a pet causes your body to produce oxytocin, the bonding, feel good, love feelings hormone. It has a very beneficial effect on your health, which IMHO is no doubt why pet owners have fewer health problems and live longer. Oh, and the pets who get cuddled also enjoy the benefits of oxytocin, which their bodies also produce, same as ours.

Why don’t those who want to redefine marriage get this? They complain about the Mormons and plural marriage, but they do not see that their situation is no different.
I could care less if people want to have a legal partnerships. I do not even care if they want to be partners with their dog. I just do not think we need to succumb to their demands to call this a marriage. And we certainly should not force churches to preform marriage ceremonies that go against their church tenets.

When my husband told me Dave Brubeck had died, I’m embarrassed to admit that my immediate reaction was “I didn’t know he was still alive!” My big brother used to listen to Brubeck all the time when he (my brother) was a teenager and I was just a little kid, and I naturally assumed that he (Brubeck) was ancient, since that’s how all little kids view most adults. I guess I never changed my perception of him over the years.
Weird coincidence: I’ve been listening to a course in music theory from The Teaching Company, and yesterday the lecture was on meter, and the professor played a clip from Dave Brubeck (“Blue Rondo à la Turk”) to illustrate the concept of additive meter. To appreciate the weirdness of the coincidence, 99% of the time this professor chooses his musical excerpts from the traditional classical repertoire, deviating from it only very rarely. I’ve listened to dozens of courses by this professor, and I think this is the only time I’ve ever heard him reference Dave Brubeck. So strange that I was listening to that particular lecture on what would have been DB’s 92nd birthday if only he had lived a few hours longer!

I just paid my internet access bill. It was higher than previous months, so I pulled out previous bills. The difference? TAX has been added. I protest!
Teh Messiah PROMISED that NOBODY who earned less than $250,000 a year would see a DIME … NOT A DIME … tax increase.
Well, I just paid three dimes more in a BRAND NEW TAX … not an increase in an existing tax, but a whole new category of tax!
And it was just one-twelfth of a year’s taxes on that one item. Yet I DEFINITELY don’t make a quarter mill in a year. I doubt I’ve made that much in my lifetime.

I heard someone say that whenever he hears people lamenting the crushing debt we’re bequeathing to our kids, he doesn’t feel much pity for them, since most of them voted Democrat. They asked for it, they got it.
