I admit. I talk to my cat. He listens well, and always agrees with me in a way the men in my life never will. lol
Ah, love those French with their humour noir.
    Mes Amies Francaise:
The American black cat, whom you adore so much, will be out of a job in a few days, enabling millions of Americans to finally find one.
    You can have your
    “Liberte, Equalite, Fraternite! ”
(wish I knew how to put in the accents on those French words)
    We prefer
“Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!”

    • I talk to my cats all the time. Usually something like “Oscar! Get off that counter, you stupid cat!” or “Figaro! Get out of the garbage, you idiot!” or something similar.

For “proper province of government,” I’m personally fond of life, liberty, and property (or “estate” as Locke said). Ensure those, we’ll take care of happiness. Fraternité should follow, God willing.

      • Or if you’re using a Mac, you just hold down the “e” and it will give you a whole bunch of options — è, é, ê, ë, ē, ė, ę — and you just click the one you want. Similarly for any other letter of the alphabet that needs a diacritical mark of some sort, such as å, ç, ï, ñ, ø, û, etc.
