Pray for bad weather!

We KNOW they’re skewing the polls to make Obama look like a shoo-in and discourage Republicans from going to the polls.

But I have a theory this could work against them … especially if the weather is lousy. Why get cold and wet if Teh Won is a shoo-in, right?

At PoliNation, I’ve been proposing, only half in jest, that we pray for bad weather. Tonight, I saw the article below, and I’m removing the half that was jest.

Political analysts admit that bad weather hurts Democrats, but has little effect on Republicans!

So do it! Pray for gray, cold, wet and windy. Beseech God to send sleet and snow showers to every Blue district in the nation.

And then make sure YOU and YOURS get to the polls. Share a dog sled if you have to. This election may well be the most important one in our nation’s history. It fershure is the most important you and I will see in our lifetimes.

October 26, 2010 – Bad news for Dems: Rain in the forecast for 2010 Election Day

In more bad news for Democrats, rain is in the forecast for much of the country on Election Day. According to Laurel Harbridge, a Northwestern University political science professor, GOP voters are not typically discouraged by rain. “Republicans are helped by bad weather … it does harm Democratic prospects.”

Other poll stories in the news:

It’s beginning to look a lot like 1980: “analysis shows most polls gave Reagan a narrow lead following the convention fallout, a lead which only blew open after the October debate. In 2012, the picture looks similarly close after the dust has settled from the party conventions” @

Unskewed polls show nearly 8 pt Romney lead: “Not a single major poll or approval/disapproval index favors Obama when’s analysis is applied. The website says there is Democratic bias in polling because of over-sampling Democrats based on voter exit polls in the 2008 presidential election, when enthusiasm for a then relatively unknown but charismatic presidential candidate boosted Democratic Party voter registration and turnout to historic levels.” @

Yet another installment in my pet birther theory

My “comment” reply to Aussie’s remarks in got so long, I thought I’d post it here, as a blog. If nothing else, the wider margins will make it easier to read. 🙂

Aussie asked if Jimi Hendrix was around and popular in Seattle in 1960. The answer is a big YES.

Not only were they both in Seattle during Ann’s senior year, but Ann’s birthday was only two DAYS after Jimi’s birthday. (November 27 and 29, 1942).

Jimi was born and grew up in Seattle; the Dunhams moved there in 1956 and stayed until after Ann graduated from high school in the spring of 1960, when they abruptly decamped for Hawaii.

Hendrix dropped out of high school in 1959, the same year he got his first electric guitar and began playing small-time bands. In 1960, he moved up in the Seattle music world, becoming lead guitar for James Thomas and His Tomcats, which played fairly regularly at small local venues in and around Seattle.

This band, with Jimi on lead guitar, won the All State Band of the Year competition in 1960.

So YES, Ann and Jimi were not just the same age and in Seattle at the same time, but also Jimi was a smokin’ hot, up-and-coming, certified Seattle rock star.

My best guess about Barack Jr’s actual birth date is 3/4/61, primarily because it would be easy to change to 8/4/61, a birth date that was late enough to satisfy INS that Green Card Barack Sr. was the baby daddy.

An early March birth puts conception in late May 1960.

This fits perfectly with my suspicion that Anarchist Ann essentially relived Wild Child Madelyn’s senior year music and sex rebellion, but as rebellious teens need to do, cranked it up a notch so as to be actually offensive to her also rebellious mom.

When our kids were young, my girlfriends and I used to talk about how overly-permissive parents make it really tough for their kids to rebel. I wonder sometimes how much of the “Best Friend 60s Hippie” parenting is responsible for the horrific stuff some of the next generation has gotten into.

My kids were all born with serious food allergies, so we had a very strict diet at home. We also went to church every week and didn’t allow television. I used to joke that, by the time my girls got around to rebelling, it wouldn’t be sex, drugs and rock and roll. It would be candy bars and soft drinks. This turned out to be fairly prophetic, actually. One of them also got heavily involved with ice cream for a while. LOL

In the spring of 1961, Jimi Hendrix was arrested twice in one week for joy riding. The judge gave him the choice of jail or the military. He chose the latter and went off to basic training in June. This also fits with my theory about a late May 1960 conception and early March 1961 birth date for Baby Barry.

I’ve had kids go off to boot camp. They go through a lot of rigamarole before they’re even accepted for enlistment; physicals, written exams, interviews. Then, they sign on the line and are committed to appear some months later. In between, they’re free to do as they please. And when they go, it feels very sudden. One day, they’re at home in their grubby jeans; the next day, they’re sweating at boot camp in camo.

So who knows … maybe banging Ann was one of Jimi’s last hurrahs before he had to go pay the piper?

As for moving to Hawaii … that also fits my theory.

I think Ann was pregnant at her high school graduation in the spring of 1960.

In 1960, single moms were still shameful, because we still thought dads actually mattered to kids. Bi-racial relationships were frowned upon by both races. And the Dunhams had a social life in Seattle.

Abortion was illegal. The Dunhams were clearly not religious; if Barry O were a decade younger, he might never have seen more than the inside of a vacuum aspirator and a bio-waste bag.

Many families back then sent their girls to maternity homes or some distant auntie’s house until the blessed little secret could be put up for adoption. My guess is Anarchist Ann flatly refused.

In Dreams, it reports she loudly expressed her contempt for white America while she was married to Indonesian Lolo Soetoro, to whom she bore her second bi-racial child. I think she probably wanted to keep her half-black bastard so she could shove it up the noses of all those conventional prigs she loathed so much.

From all acounts, Stanley was no prize as a provider, so Madelyn, with her bank job, would have had a real problem. They needed her income. It was tough enough being a female executive back then, never mind a female BANK executive. The scandal of an unwed daughter toting her half-black bastard baby around town could easily have spelled dismissal for Madelyn.

It just makes sense to me that they decided to handle the mess by decamping to a new city where mixed racial profiles were very common and nobody knew the Dunham family. Ann was able to attend her first semester of college in the loose clothing common on the Islands, then hide her 3rd trimester belly and deliver with a midwife at home, which reportedly was very common in Hawaii at the time.

As for who came up with the bright idea for the green card marriage and fake birth certificate … your guess is as good as mine.

Left vs Right — It really is all about God

Some time ago, I was pondering the odd breakdown of highly polarized Left and Right issues.

E.g., the Left is very big on outlawing capital punishment and allowing (encouraging) sex without shame or consequences, anytime, anywhere and with whoever or whatever partner(s) you choose, yet the Left is also very active in support of the hard-line Muslim Sharia movement that openly practices capital punishment for adultery and homosexuality.

Meanwhile, the Right is very big on keeping the government out of our personal lives, yet is also very active in getting abortion outlawed and keeping marriage between one man and one woman.

I could cite more examples, but you get the picture. And you know what they say … an apparent double standard is a sign of a single underlying agenda. I found the underlying single agenda when I compared the polarized issues with Scripture.

Today, I am passing on an article by the highest-ranking Soviet-bloc official ever to defect to the West. He lays out evidence that the Left’s support for both Atheistic Communism and Muslim Extremism is not a coincidence.

Excerpt to whet your appetite:

In 1972, I had a breakfast with then-KGB chairman Yury Andropov in Moscow. The Kremlin, he told me, had decided to transform Arab anti-Semitism into an anti-American doctrine for the whole Muslim world. The idea was to portray the United States as a war-mongering, Zionist country financed by Jewish money and run by a rapacious “Council of the Elders of Zion” (the KGB’s derisive epithet for the U.S. Congress) intent on transforming the rest of the world into a Jewish fiefdom. Andropov made the point that one billion adversaries could cause far greater damage than could a mere 150 million. Even Muhammad, he said, had not limited his religion to Arab countries.

The KGB boss described the Muslim world as a waiting petri dish, in which we could nurture a strain of hate-America, grown from the bacterium of Marxist-Leninist thought. Islamic anti-Semitism ran deep, he said. The Muslims had a taste for nationalism, jingoism and victimology, and their illiterate, oppressed mobs could easily be whipped up to a fever pitch. We had only to keep repeating, over and over, that the United States was a war-mongering, Zionist country anxious to take over the whole world.

The KGB community threw millions of dollars and thousands of people into that gigantic project.

Obama’s Pet Goat

Ninety minutes after Muslim extremists began assaulting our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, with AK-47s and RPGs, President Barack Obama was informed that his ambassador was in grave danger. According to reports, he then toddled off to bed.

Let’s all watch and see how the Left responds to this egregious lack of concern and leadership from their messiah, shall we? And, as we do this, let us keep in mind how these same people reacted to what George Bush did after learning a second plane had just hit the World Trade Center.

Increasingly irrelevant

August 8-9, 2012: Rasmussen Poll of Likely Voters on Media and Politics

Q. Think for a moment about the two major presidential candidates this year. Which candidate received the best treatment from the media so far—Barack Obama or Mitt Romney?

A. Obama 59% vs. Romney 18% vs. Not Sure 23%.

Q. Looking ahead to the campaign between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, will most reporters try to help Barack Obama, offer unbiased coverage, or try to help Mitt Romney?

A. Try to help Obama 51% vs. Try to help Romney 9% vs. Unbiased and Not sure 40%

In a September 21 article, Kyle Becker cites some of the more egregious examples of journalistic malpractice that have soured the nation’s trust:

Such lapses in journalistic responsibility as the mainstream media’s glossing over the explosive Fast & Furious scandal, race-baiting during the Trayvon Martin shooting, selective editing of footage that might make Romney or Ryan appeal to the broader population, intentionally limiting their airing of diverse speakers at the Republican convention, and their dishonest polling are making it hard for even casual consumers of news to dismiss the media’s Democratic bias.

Klavan has done some excellent commentary over the years:

Apr 1, 2009: Shut up [4:44]

Nov 4, 2010: You Too Can Be a Mainstream Media Reporter [5:16]

The latest journalistic atrocity has been committed by CNN, which has now ADMITTED one of their reporters discovered murdered Ambassador Christopher Stevens’ personal journal at the crime scene, but rather than turn it over to authorities as evidence, smuggled it out, read it and used pieces of it in news reports before turning it over to his family. Is there a bridge these turds won’t cross?!

Sept 22 at Rasmussen

Rasmussen is running regular Obama vs. Romney polls nationally and in 11 key states won by Obama in 2008 and thought to be competitive in 2012. These states collectively hold 146 Electoral College votes.

In 2008, Obama won these states (Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin) by a combined margin of 53% to 46%, virtually identical to his national margin.

September 22, 2012: After modest post-convention bounces for both candidates, the race is now back to where it was at the beginning of the month. Numbers include Leaners, those who initially say they are uncommitted but who lean towards one of the candidates when asked a follow-up question.

NATIONAL    Obama 46% vs. Romney 46% vs. Undecided 5% vs. Other 3%
SWING         Obama 48% vs. Romney 47% vs. Undecided 5%
