WE DEPENDED ON COAL FOR 150 YEARS, B.O.–BEFORE OBAMA
I remember as a kid watching the coal truck pull up to the basement window and dumping coal into the storeroom.Every morning we had to go down into the basement,pull the clinkers out of the furnace and shovel coal into the hopper to stoke the heat.That’s all gone now,along with tens of thousands of jobs and a way of life that won’t be coming back.

Sorry PP, but I remember my grandmothers coal furnace. It was dirty nasty stuff. Black soot on the walls is not pretty, and so unhealthy. I’ll keep my natural gas, and radiant heat!

I read somewhere that Play-Doh was invented originally without color to clean the soot off wallpaper. When people switched to cleaner home heating, the manufacturer got some clever chap to find a new use for the stuff. Add color, tweak the formula, Bingo.
Coal fired electric plants with scrubbers on the output … now THAT I can definitely get behind! … I heard some guy say how the lame brain leftie celebs pompously driving their uber pricey electric cars in California have NO CLUE the electricity is generated mostly by coal. ::snort::

This is something that just boggles my mind. I know there are dems out there who must disagree with the obummunists. Why are they still complicit?

My browser won’t play YouTube videos for some reason so I have to download each one (yay, YouTube Downloader) to play. That’s okay, I think we should be backing up everything worthwhile because we don’t know when YouTube might decide to fully merge with the Progressssssives. When I try to play a YT vid, the audio stutters the audio stutters the audio stutters. I blame it on playing too many vids of the stuttering empty chair of a miserable failure.
Thanks for the vids, Pete! I have my own subscription to many of these sites and see them on the YouTube page, but I don’t get your “context” there! 😀

Mindful, I learned the hard way I have to keep my online cache cleared or risk the SCREAMING YOUTUBE DEMON. Too much browsing without clearing and then I start a YouTube video that just stalls on download, for some reason setting off the loudest shrieking my computer’s speakers are capable of. NOTHING stops it. I can’t unplug (got a battery). Can’t shut it down (doesn’t work). Can’t turn it down (shrieking has nothing to do with volume controls). The only option appears to be to leave the room, shut as many doors as possible and wait for the blasted thing to sort itself out. Harumph.
