Darwinists would want Jefferson silenced

July 4, 2012: Founding Father Thomas Jefferson on Intelligent Design [see below about timing of podcast]

This podcast uses Thomas Jefferson’s own writings to show that, while he repudiated traditional Christianity, he found abundant evidence of intelligent design in nature itself.

The podcast bar says it’s 14 minutes long. It’s actually only 8 minutes long. Maybe it’s a boilerplate? I dunno. The important thing is that the meaty bits you want to listen to last only about six minutes. The first minute is introduction and the last is an ad for the podcast series. To skip them both, slide the bar to 1:00, listening and then turn it off at 7:00.

The sad thing is that students today are not taught of all this man was to our nation’s founding. All they are taught is that he had a black mistress named Sally Hemmings.

  2. Jefferson attended church at the Capitol while he was Vice President and also throughout his Presidency. The first Capitol church service that Jefferson attended as President was a service preached by Jefferson’s friend, the Rev. John Leland, on January 3, 1802. Significantly, Jefferson attended that Capitol church service just two days after he penned his famous letter containing the “wall of separation between church and state” metaphor.

That wall was supposed to keep the state out of the church, not the other way around. The Left has put us into a place where we’re supposed to only be believers for an hour or two on Sunday morning, but secular humanists the rest of the time. And we’ve let them. Now, emboldened by decades of encroachment while we turned more cheeks than we’ve got on our faces AND our rear ends, they’re trying to shut down even the hour or two on Sunday.
