THE FRIDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

I was the unfortunate witness to two events that were televised yesterday.Having never been one to deprive myself of an emotional outlet,I feel a rant or two coming on.You’ve been warned.

W RETURNS TO THE WHITE HOUSE FOR THE UNVEILING OF HIS OFFICIAL PORTRAIT

You have,no doubt, read numerous accounts of the event, here’s mine:
Bush was at his humble,funny,self-effacing,genuine self.Laura was her charming, graceful, cheerful self.I didn’t realize until yesterday how much I missed being genuinely proud of my president.
What a contrast they were to the cold,aloof,unfeeling,uncaring,arrogant,self-promoting sworn enemy of the very system that he is the ultimate beneficiary of.
Not even on the day meant to honor his predecesor,he could not forego the bitter, petty, hateful ways that define him.I almost choked when he started with this:

CONTRAST THAT WITH THE COUPLE WHO SERVED US HONORABLY

When Barry called him George, I wish that GW would have had the balls to say, “Hey Barry, how about we both show respect for the office and use the term Mr. President”
And then GW could have commented on what the numbers were when Barry became one of the majority members of the Congress that tanked the economy.
I am so sick of republicans refusing to stick up for themselves by taking the “high road”.

      • I still remember how, all during the 2008 campaign, Obama always addressed McCain as “John,” while McCain always addressed Obama as “Senator Obama.” It was pretty obvious which man’s mother had raised him correctly. Or maybe it’s a generational thing.

    RUH ROH;UNEMPLOYMENT JUMPS TO 8.2%
Economists were expecting 150,000 new jobs.A paltry 69,000 jobs were added.Even after grossly distorting the actual numbers,The Gunga Dins in the media carrying this chump’s water can’t hide the fact his reign is a train wreck.Isn’t it ironic that under Bush when the republicans controlled the House and Senate we had 52 straight months of REAL job creation and unemployment was 4.5%,and all we heard about was the ‘jobless recovery?’

I would bet a hard dollar against a penny’s worth of brimstone that nanoseconds after SCOTUS cast their ‘secret’ vote, his Jewish Jezebel,Elena Kagan, got word to him he had lost.

If Romney is willing to fight fire with fire, I just might become a supporter. If he follows the McCain strategy, he deserves to lose, EVEN IF WE DON’T!

Excerpt: “John Hinderaker added this on the Romney strategy, via Instapundit: These aren’t your father’s Republicans. “One of the most heartening aspects of the early stages of the presidential race has been the Romney campaign’s aggressiveness. Nothing discourages activists more than getting out front of a candidate who, it later turns out, isn’t willing to do what it takes to win. A number of Republicans of recent years could be said to fit that description, most recently John McCain. But not Mitt Romney.””

Agree, happy to see a little “courage” on the campaign trail as opposed the the milk-toast we were subjected to last cycle. McCain on the campaign trail (except for when joined by SP) was about as exciting as watching paint dry. Romney needs to fight as if our Republic’s survival depends on his victory…because it does.

Romney should do this all over the country. He can go to the Caterpillar plant and talk about how many jobs were lost there. He can go to Detroit and talk about how many jobs were lost there after the bailouts. He can go to southern IL, where Barry once promised jobs to the poor blacks, where the coal industry is being shut down, etc etc.
Barry can continue to speak at college campuses standing in front of mindless juveniles and marxist professors.
If Mitt gets out with the real people, and shows the faces of the jobless, it will make a huge statement.

EDWARDS NOT GUILTY OF ONE CHARGE,JURY HUNG ON FIVE OTHERS
This was the other stomach-churner from yesterday. When I first heard one female on the jury was flirting with him,I told DW:it’s going to be a hung jury-she won’t convict him of anything.Escaping all the charges is nothing new.At Blagojevich’s first trial,it was a black woman who had been a public union stooge refused to convict despite what had been obvious to the eleven others. What really annoyed me was his slithering out of the courthouse, leaving a trail of slime as all slugs do,then mugging for the camera. When he said ‘God isn’t done with me yet’ I was moved.Well,my bowels were moved, anyway.
It is frightening to think this lecherous snake, who cheated on his dying wife, used his daughter as a prop and finally acknowledged the love child he had steadfastly denied could have been president. There is video of this exercise in self-gratification but I chose not to post it.The next youtube is bad enough.

What is even more disgusting is how many women who were dealing with breast cancer were supporting this man. I could see right through him from day one. Remember when he showed his true colors:

You don’t get much worse than this sorry excuse for a man. The only comfort I have is the knowledge that he will face his Maker one day.

    • A Mindful Webworker

Mrs Webworker told me that Mark Levin said (so surely I have this exactly right) that the charges were all wrong in the first place. There weren’t campaign contributions used as hush money, as it’s been portrayed and as I had thought the case was. Instead, the prosecution was trying to say that because the hush money related to his status as a candidate, the hush money was campaign contribution. That’s all I know about it. If so, the jury may have made a technically right decision. (I also will argue that the jury made the just — if not right — decision in the OJ trial, after I watched the whole prosecution portion.) It’s awful when the prosecution fails, and actual guilt becomes irrelevant.

Not much question about what a snake Edwards is, as a candidate, a husband, and a man. He can now join Ayers in saying “Guilty as sin. Free as a bird.” Would mentioning a far worse case of someone who shouldn’t be free, Brett Kimberlin, be too much topic-drift? 😀

I think NYC had two of these stories last week. Just another example of the moral decay of our society. I take comfort in knowing that instead of dealing with issues such as education, jobs and crime, Big Bro Bloomberg is taking away our slurpies.
