Losing the War on Women

According to Mike Flynn at Breitbart, WaPo is using its latest poll to blat that Obama is beating Romney by 2 points, 49-47.

But the poll sample included only 22% Republicans. Gallup shows 28% of Americans currently self-identify as Republican.

And, as Flynn notes, if only 22% of actual voters next November are Republicans,

“it would be about the lowest turnout for the GOP in modern history. In 2010, 35% of voters were Republican. In 2008, the year Obama swept into the White House, 32% of voters were Republican. Even in 2006, the year Democrats took control of Congress, 36% of voters were Republican.”

Still , according to analysts, WaPo’s bias is consistent, which means changes within WaPo polls are actually meaningful.

Check out what happened to Obama’s favorability among women over the time period in which the White House and its media kennels ranted that Republicans just want women to be Stepford Wives:

Obama lost 6 points to Romney among women registered to vote.

Obama lost 21 points to Romney among married women!

Poverty of Spirit

For the record, while I agree with Zo’s economics, I do not agree with his interpretation of “blessed are the poor.”

Matthew 5:3 actually says: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

It’s got nothing whatsoever to do with material wealth or lack thereof.

Jesus is saying here that those who are “poor in spirit” will be blessed by God with eternal life.

A pauper can be poor in spirit. Or not. Likewise a billionaire.

Poverty of SPIRIT is about knowing who one truly is in relation to God.

Barack Can’t Be Bothered to Govern

While campaigning in 2008, he blew off injured Soldiers who were expecting a visit.

After he won, he told Republicans to get in the back seat and not talk.

He had plenty of time to campaign in Europe, but hop over to celebrate one of the greatest single events of the 20th century? Nah.

After the Fort Hood incident, George and Laura Bush visited For Hood. Barack took the week-end off to relax at Camp David, a locale he has since shunned in favor of more glam (and expensive to taxpayers) resorts here and abroad.

These days, Barack doesn’t even bother to talk to his own people.

“Democrats wait by phone for President Obama – He doesn’t call. He doesn’t write. He doesn’t drop by for a visit. …

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) is trying to cut a deal on the nation’s fiscal crisis, but he can’t recall the last time he talked to the president.

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) is in charge of one of Obama’s top priorities — preventing a rate increase on student loans — but he hasn’t talked to the president in months.

And Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) is the go-to guy on high gas prices, but the chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee hasn’t spoken to the president much since the previous Congress. …

But both policy meetings and social gatherings with committee chairmen, ranking members, back bench freshmen and GOP swing voters — all hallmarks of the early part of Obama’s term — have been few and far between with the president these days.

Torture in Obama’s Hood

In our nation’s capital, unborn babies can be legally tortured to death right up to the moment of natural birth. Only five nations in the world have a legal policy that is this extreme.

In our nation’s capital, the responsibility for legislating abortion restrictions lies with Congress and the President. So far, 194 legislators have sponsored the District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 3803).
