Wow. I never listened to Rand Paul before. He reminds me of Santorum. I think I’ll have to go find a book about the Great Awakenings in this country. I know almost nothing about them.

As much as I like some of the things Ron Paul stands for, the thought of his as president makes me cringe even more than Romney. I think the whole reason Ron is keeping his profile out there, even though he knows he can’t win is to pave the way for his platform and his son. I am all for Rand. He is more of a tea party candidate and doesn’t whine like Daddy. I also believe that Rand will be the reason Ron will not pursue a third party, even thought Paulbots are pushing for it. Ron knows that if he does go 3rd party, the GOP will turn on him and his son will get caught up in it. Rand may one day be able to accomplish what his divisive father cannot.

Barry was not popular in Chicago until he got propped up by Oprah and became the annointed “one”. He had to move out of the black community to Hyde Park, where rich folk like Ayers live, so he could even win a seat in the state legislature.
I will wager that when he is ousted in a landslide in November (and I get more convinced this will happen every day), that people will not be able to get books out fast enough that dish the dirt on this poser. He has thrown everyone under the bus from his Grandma to Gibby, and I bet there will be lots of juicy tell-alls.
Can’t wait!

I got as far as him saying there are no good reasons for supporting traditional marriage. Couldn’t continue. It makes me so angry when they simply REFUSE to acknowledge that we even HAVE REASONS (except homophobia, racism, blah di blah di blah). I used to be “sure why not?” about gay marriage, until I read the REASONS behind the “no way” position. You know what? They made SENSE. So I switched sides.
LikeLike
The part that bugs me is that allowing gay “marriage” will mandate that churches perform ceremonies that are against church doctrine. I thought we had a separation of church and state? Churches have a right to keep their traditions.
Why do these people refuse to compromise. Most people would be okay with civil unions, as long as they are written to protect children and would not be able to be used by those who want to exploit marriage more by bringing back things like polygamy.
Marriage is a tradition that has been a part of society for generations. Why do we have to change it for a minority of people just because they scream loudly. Give them civil liberties, but don’t expect the rest of us to redefine marriage.

Well, if signs and billboards mean anything, Walker is winning. I drive around a lot (mostly chauffeuring my daughter to all her stuff) and the pro-Walker signs and billboards outnumber the anti-Walker ones by a large margin. I think the labor unions (the primary source of anti-Walker cash) are feeling the pinch because they’ve wasted so much money on the recall elections, and because Walker made Wisconsin a de facto right-to-work state when he made union dues voluntary rather than mandatory.

“Only 32 percent think the war in Iraq ended successfully, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. And far more of them would pull out of Afghanistan than continue military operations there.”
Just a thought here, but the Soldiers I know up close and in person (a) LOATHE Obama, (b) are unhappy with Obama’s too early pull out from Iraq and (c) think we have done all we can in Afghanistan and should come home.
As for this piece of donkey doo, “If the election were held today, Obama would win the veteran vote by as much as seven points over Romney, higher than his margin in the general population.” Ahem. Rasmussen has Romney UP BY EIGHT POINTS. Where did Reuters poll, their own newsrooms? “Reuters forgot to include the polling data with the article.”
