Obama’s eligibility is still an issue

Excerpts from http://www.wnd.com/2012/01/obama-eligibility-challenges-spread-to-6-states/

The latest round of court actions do not try to have a judge determine Obama is not qualified for the Oval Office and remove him from it, they simply challenge his eligibility for the 2012 election.

Many of the cases cite Minor v. Happersett, a U.S. Supreme Court opinion from 1875 that said a “natural born citizen” would be a person whose parents both were citizens.

“This complaint does not request any injunction against any state or federal government official. Instead this complaint asserts that the private entity, Defendant Democratic Party, intends to act negligently or fraudulently in a manner that will cause irreparable harm to the plaintiffs, to the states, and to the citizens of the United States,” said one of the filings.

It continued, “Because Mr. Obama has admitted that his father was not a U.S. citizen, and because this fact has been confirmed by the U.S. State Department, any reasonable person with knowledge of these facts would doubt Mr. Obama’s constitutional qualifications. Therefore, any representation by the Democratic Party certifying said qualifications would be negligent, absent further evidence verifying Mr. Obama’s natural-born status.

“Plaintiffs further request an injunction prohibiting the Democratic Party from making any representation to any state official asserting, implying, or assuming that Mr. Obama is qualified to hold the office of president, absent a showing by the party sufficient to prove that said representation is not negligent.”

Van Irion, lead counsel for Liberty Legal Foundation, … said if the cases succeed, the Democrats would not be able to list Obama as their candidate for 2012.

“Neither lawsuit discusses Obama’s place of birth or his birth certificate. These issues are completely irrelevant to the argument. LLF’s lawsuit simply points out that the Supreme Court has defined ‘natural-born citizen’ as a person born to two parents who were both U.S. citizens at the time of the natural-born citizen’s birth. Obama’s father was never a U.S. citizen. Therefore, Obama can never be a natural-born citizen. His place of birth is irrelevant.”

This is NOT about “access to birth control.”

Birth control is available in every drug store and public rest room in the country.

The HHS mandate is about the government trampling on our First Amendment rights.

It’s also about forcing up health insurance costs to the point where the private sector can no longer offer it.
The Left wants all health care moneys to be run through the government coffers.
The Left wants all health care decisions to be dictated by the government.
This mandate is just one step in the whole plan.
If you’ve paid attention to the Obamacare debates, you already know this.

The sides are being clearly drawn.
And, make no mistake, friends.
The lines are CONSTITUTIONAL.

Republicans are for it.
Democrats are against it.

As for the Left-Stream Media … check out how Left-biased this ABC report is.

Senate Democrats Say Obama ‘Reinforced’ His Stance on Contraception Mandate at Democratic Retreat – Feb 8, 2012
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/02/senate-democrats-say-obama-reinforced-his-stance-on-contraception-mandate-at-democratic-retreat/

Lots and lots of Democrat rhetoric that skews the meaning of the debate.

Words like “contraception.”
Wrong. The morning after pill is mandated and that is definitely NOT contraceptive.

But there is NOT ONE WORD about the Republican position.

Not one.

Gillibrand said, “What is more intrusive than trying to allow an employer to make medical decisions for someone who works for them?”

I dunno. How about a Senator who lies about what the real issue is?

Love and not negativity

In a post earlier this week, I made a snarky remark that the Left claims Obama is “smarter than God.”

One of my bloggy buds wrote back:

How can one be smarter than God? The very definition of God refutes that statement. I am so tired of this craziness.  The problem is the more I dwell on it the angrier and more frustrated I get and I don’t like the person it makes me!  Trying to figure out how to fight the stupidity and hatred with love.  I have started a prayer campaign of my own to pray for the people of our country to focus on love and not hatred and making decisions for what is the best for our country based on love and not negativity.  Would you like to join me in this quest?

Yes, dear one. I would.

I’d also like to point out that this particular bloggy bud wears the uniform, salutes the flag and carries a gun.

Not that I expect “demonize the Right” types to read this, let alone open up their minds to the possibility that we’re not evil.

I just needed to say it.

THE THURSDAY CPAC GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

When I was 8,I joined the Cub Scouts. At 11 I went into the Boy Scouts as a rite of passage,as many boys did back then. There was a local Scout camp about 30 miles south of where we lived. We went there for a couple summers straight. One summer we wanted to go to Camp Northwoods in Watersmeet,Michigan.I don’t recall what the trip cost back then, but it was considerable. We didn’t want to sell popcorn because every other scout troop was doing it.Your humble correspondent came up with an idea.

We went to Hoople’s Grain and Feed Store(it’s still there)and got stacks of empty feed sacks.Living on a dairy farm,I had an unlimited supply of fresh manure to sell for fertilizer. One kid’s dad was a graphic designer and he made us a big sign for our roadside stand. The sign read:BUY YOUR BS FROM THE BSA. We sold enough for every kid to go to the Northwoods.True story.

At the risk of sounding like a Neanderthal,I’m in favor of a national death penalty with a five year limit on appeals.Kill a police officer,a child or an elderly person and you WILL die.Preferably a public hanging.Maybe some of these droopy-pants,gang sign-flashing,drug-dealing bastards would think twice about beating a 90 year old woman to death for the few dollars in her purse. So I’m a vindictive old fossil.Deal with it.

Leftists, Drones, Libtards and Liberals

Dearest and I have identified four different group on the Left:

True Leftists, who understand that Leftist doctrines are evil and like it that way. E.g., George Soros, Saul Alinsky.

Drones, who spew Leftist talking points, but can’t explain any of them. E.g., the guy I heard on the radio last night. See below.

Libtards, who isolate themselves from everything and everyone that might challenge their world view. They read Leftist literature and can talk about it, but they never examine any of it critically, even when it is self-contradictory. In my experience, the only thing that gets these turkeys to wise up is if Leftists bite them on their own personal butts. E.g., fomerly bleeding heart liberal Catholic bishops.

Real Liberals, who believe that the freedoms in the Constitution apply to everyone equally and who recognize that government policies that hurt the poor are bad, no matter how warm and cuddly they may have seemed at first. These people walk the walk and are outraged when they finally get a clue that the Democrat Media Machine has been playing them for suckers. E.g., me.

The reason we came up with these categories was to avoid wasting time on evil people (True Leftists) and fools (Drones), and to identify when we’ve hit a brick wall (Libtards) so we can focus our efforts productively on the people who are willing to listen and learn (True Liberals).

Click on graphic to embiggen.

Last night, I listened to a true Drone on the “Red Eye” radio show.

As soon as Drone got on the air, he launched into a diatribe about how “every recession has been the fault of a Republican President.”

In particular, he cited the Reagan recession, which started six months into his first term.

IOW, the recession that began just six months into Reagan’s first term and ended before the end of his second year in office had nothing whatsoever to do with the Democrat President who preceded him, but the current recession which is still staggering along more than three years after Obama took over is entirely the fault of the Republican President who came before. It’s like … the lights are on, but nobody’s home, KWIM?

Anyway, the Red Eye hosts bent over backwards to let Drone make his case, provided he would stop ranting.

He kinda tried, but every time he got stuck, he’d rant some more. Eventually the very patient hosts gave up and cut him off.

Before they did that though, Drone visited upon us his brilliant theory about why Republicans are bad for the economy.

According to him, Republicans always lower taxes on rich people, allowing these greedy sumbitches to hoard more of their money, which is Very Bad For The Economy.

The hosts asked him how exactly rich people hoard money. E.g., “Like under their mattresses?”

Well. No. They do greedy, useless things like buy stock.

“Do you understand that stock moves money into the business sector, which is good for the economy?”

No it doesn’t. It just SITS and does NOTHING!

Hosts sigh and ask politely, “So what do you think causes the economy to get moving again?”

Consumer spending.

Hosts: “50% of all consumer spending is done by rich people.”

That is a fake statistic you conjured up from “a dark place.”

(He really said that they got their data from “a dark place.” Actually, it came from a government web site. The hosts double checked during the break and cited the exact numbers and their source, which was a government web site.)

The hosts tried to talk to Drone about how stocks provide investment capital for entrepreneurs to start up or expand businesses that make stuff for consumers to spend their money on.

They tried to talk about how this also meant more jobs, which translated into more consumers who could afford to spend money on stuff.

They tried to explain how we need both investment and consumer spending to get the economy moving, and that rich people are excellent at both if they’re allowed to keep more of their own money, which means lowering their taxes is good for the economy.

More ranting. Click.

During the break, while ads ran and the hosts looked up their dark statistics, I was flashing on how, when my kids were about 4 years old and wanted something I couldn’t afford, I’d try to explain that I didn’t have enough money.

And they (practicing for adolescence) would roll their eyes dramatically and, with voices dripping with disgust over the depths of my stupiditude, would announce, “Well, go to the machine and get more!”
