THE SATURDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

To those to whom it is relevant;Cathy arrived home yesterday,safe and  sound.Needless to say,Mrs. Pistol and I were gobsmacked.She loves her new dress and I’m sure would like to tell us of her journey.

Words cannot express my gratitude for the warmth and compassion you all show in so many ways.You fill an emptiness in my soul and give my simple life purpose.It is a privilege to count you all as my friends.May God grant you the kind of peace and happiness I have found by loving and following Him.

    Cathy will makes things clear to you soon, but anybody who’s been up to all the shenanigans of THAT girl needs a good solid rest before she starts to talk. P.S. Pulling her string won’t help.

        But what’s with the new “dress” ?? I made her a necklace. Did someone else get all sewy and not tell me or was Pete just SO gobsmacked, he typed the wrong word. ??

            Men and fashion. snort. I can’t go out, so I ask Dearest, “What were the wedding colors?” I dunno. “Well, what did the bridesmaids wear?” I dunno. “Flowers?” I dunno. “Did you actually go? Do you remember ANYTHING?” … Rapturous and detailed description of the reception dinner, especially the cake. The frosting he remembered. The eleventy-seven bridesmaids all wearing the SAME COLOR … not a clue.

            • Ok – you’re making me share this one… One week after our wedding, my brand-new husband and I were attending the wedding of our Best Man’s sister. One of the guests who had not been able to come to our wedding asked DH whether I had worn a formal gown. He proceeded to describe a frilly lace dress with long sleeves and a V-neck and a long train. Since my gown was really quite simple – short sleeves, high neck, no lace, and no train at all, I was left wondering whose wedding he had been to the week before – it sure wasn’t the one I was at!

          Oh … you’ll see. Just wait. 🙂

          [Not sure she’s even in the original box. It was smushed when we got it, but we didn’t have anything the right size, so Dearest cut up other boxes and glued new sides and bottom to her box. Steamer trunks are sturdier than corrugated, that’s fershure LOL]

    Race for the Smear: “It’s unclear whether Planned Parenthood has actually brought Komen to heel. Austin Ruse of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute argues that the wording of Ms. Brinker’s latest statement reflects no actual change in policy. Komen never planned to revoke existing grants, and eligibility to apply for a grant does not necessarily mean eligibility to receive one. He advises that potential donors to Komen wait and see. Apart from the brutal lesson in the intolerance of abortion advocates, the larger principle at stake is the right of a charity to donate to whomever it likes, for whatever reason it likes.”

    They’re in no danger of getting support from me.

    Can anyone explain what in HELL Fancy Nancy was talking about?

    “I’m going to stick with my fellow Catholics in supporting the administration’s decision on this. I think it was very courageous.”

    Did Obama reverse the HHS decree?

        That’s what Dearest said, too. LOL We were speculating maybe they used a really long needle, like a spinal tap one, and shoved it right into her brain. But that would suggest her brain is still between her ears. I’m thinking she has it in a jar on her Obama Altar.

        SNORT. … Dearest and I were wondering if it wasn’t a clip from back when the Clueless Catholic Bishops were rah-rahing ObamaCare. Of course, she’d call that “courageous.”

        The Bishops reversed their position before the ObamaCare vote, but given the way Fancy Nancy looked that day she marched with her big gavel in celebration, I’m thinking that her fellowship with “my fellow Catholics” was a thing of the past.

        She and Biden and Sebelius and Kerry and all the rest of the pro-abort CINOs remind me of those oh-so-pious Mafioso types who were outwardly Catholic while running their criminal empires. Jesus had plenty to say about people like that. He called them “pharisees.” Hell is full of them.

    Key point about Reid’s claim the “passed a budget” last August:

    “If what Reid and Schumer are arguing is that the Senate doesn’t need to pass a formal budget resolution to enable the government to spend taxpayer money irresponsibly, then they’re right. For the past couple years, while the Senate Budget Democrats have sat on their hands, failing to submit a budget resolution to the full Senate, the Senate Appropriations Committee has still authorized ungodly amounts of discretionary spending.

    “But if what Reid and Schumer are saying is that they’ve followed the law and submitted a budget resolution, then they’re flat-out wrong. The Congressional Budget Act requires the president to submit a budget to Congress by Feb. 1 every year. The Senate Budget Committee is to report a budget resolution to the full Senate by April 1. The House and Senate are to reach agreement on a concurrent budget resolution by April 15. Senate Budget Democrats haven’t submitted a budget since 2009.”

    The senate democrats have had no intention of submitting a budget so people can see how recklessly they spend.Also you never hear the Republican House has sent up over 500 pieces of legislation for Senate action and all have been either voted down along party lines or toad-face won’t even let them come up.That way they can put some of the blame on our side for being a ‘do-nothing congress.’They get away with it,too,thanks to the regimes palace guards in the press making excuses for them.

    Clueless here on Cathy???

    Sorry to post this entire story but posted elsewhere and the link was not working consistently. Looks like there are other relevant issues being discussed at site.
    Obama Pulls Combat Pay For Troops:
    “President Obama’s latest policy outrage makes no attempt to hide his contempt for our military, as he is ordering that our troops serving overseas in war zones overseas are not to receive combat pay unless they are being shot at, or at risk of being injured by hostile aggression. A Marine who lives in Florida has just posted a note on Facebook which stated that he received a letter from his MyPay account that he would only be receiving his Hazard pay (Imminent Danger Pay) if he is actually in a hostile area and at risk of being shot at.

    So I just got a letter from MyPay (the way we get paid in the military), saying that I will only reason Combat Pay while deployed for the days that I take fire or am in a hostile area. Now, as an Infantry Marine, I’m constantly in a combat zone…it may not always be popping off, but for them to take that away from us is bullshit. Now, the aviation tech who sits on Camp Leatherneck, sure, I can see him not getting Combat Pay, but to take it away from the grunts, the ground pounders, the front line of defense…come on, Uncle Sam. You let the Liberals win a big one here… Marine from Florida (We are not posting his name for obvious reasons)

    According to Military.com, and the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 (H.R. 1540-7 Sec 616) as of February 1, 2012, this new measure went into effect, and soldiers who are to receive the additional $225/mo. combat pay ‘must’ be in immediate risk of harm. The measure is very specific in its criteria for receiving the additonal pay.

    The rules for Hostile Fire and Imminent Danger Pay have changed. Service members will now receive imminent danger pay only for days they actually spend in hazardous areas. This change went in effect on February 1, 2012.

    A member of a uniformed service may be entitled to Hostile Fire and Imminent Danger pay at the rate of $225 for any month in which he/she was entitled to basic pay and in which he/she was:

    Subject to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines;
    On duty in an area in which he was in imminent danger of being exposed to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines and in which, during the period he was on duty in that area, other members of the uniformed services were subject to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines;
    Killed, injured, or wounded by hostile fire, explosion of a hostile mine, or any other hostile action; or
    On duty in a foreign area in which he was subject to the threat of physical harm or imminent danger on the basis of civil insurrection, civil war, terrorism, or wartime conditions.

    The last bullet point speaks volumes as to the sheer stupidity of this measure. The whole point of going to Afghanistan and Iraq was for combat operations- Afghanistan still is a hostile warzone, and both U.S. and NATO forces continue to suffer losses in and out of combat hot zones. Insurgent attacks have accured throughout areas that have been deemed ‘safe’, and in areas where hostilities were not forseen.

      Hoot, Cathy was an adminster project. We were kinda sneaky though so I’m not sure Pete knows which of us were involved. There’s more to come for him and Mrs. Pete that will explain more and, if he feels like sharing, he’s welcome to do so.

      I can’t speak definitively about every blog on the planet, but I suspect PoliNation is nearly unique in having over two dozen administrators. It was set up that way to keep it from being too much work for any one person and also to keep it more open and “all of ours” because we’d seen other sites that imploded due to an administrator getting too ego-driven about content.
