Prayers please

Baby Bunn went for an ENT consult about the cyst on her throat. They did an ultrasound and decided it’s an encapsulated blob of infection that’s not attached to anything.

Big relief on that score … they were concerned about it being some kind of growth attached to her thyroid.

It’s growing fast, so Mama and Baby are in the hospital getting IV antibiotics and awaiting an OR.Mama treated herself to a couple new books and brought her DVDs of Firefly and Serenity to keep her mind occupied and her spirits calm.

Also, when Daddy Buzz called his CO to request time off work to stay with Baby Buzz, he learned the CO’s wife had just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, so throat prayers there as well.

  4. Everything out-of-the-ordinary that happens to babies is scary, but an encapsulated infection is better than a thyroid growth. Really it is!

You got that right! Mama Buzz has a chronic thyroid condition that emerged when she was only 11.

One of the possibilities for her symptoms was thyroid cancer which, thank God, it wasn’t. What she has in an earlier onset of the same condition I have, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.

Hearing our little Bunn might have something growing off her thyroid hit some very old panic buttons in this grandma, I can tell you. Last word we had was she has gone in for surgery.

I’m on pins and needles here waiting to hear if they were able to pop that sack of infection out intact and without nicking anything vital in her teensy weensy neck. These were the two biggest concern the surgeon had.

  5. Prayers of course. That little one is PRECIOUS.
