He can’t blame this on Congress

Following his Talk About the Economy bus tour and while he’s been enjoying a posh vacay on Martha’s Vineyard at taxpayers’ expense, Obama’s approval ratings sank to their lowest ever. On Sunday, he told reporters it was Congress’ fault.

In other words, he thinks we’re too dumb to know the difference between him and Congress.

Sorry, Barry.  Recent polls demonstrate clearly that the problem isn’t stupid Americans. It’s YOU.

August 1, 2011: A CNN poll taken at the end of the debt ceiling debate:

  • Obama      Approve 45%   Disapprove 52%   No opinion 2%
  • Congress   Approve 14%  Disapprove 84%   No opinion 2%
  • Difference   Approve 31%  Disapprove 32%

August 16-20, 2011:  Two GALLUP polls

  • Obama      Approve 40%   Disapprove 53%   No opinion 7%
  • Congress   Approve 13%   Disapprove 84%   No opinion 3%
  • Difference   Approve 27%   Disapprove 31%

Congress’ numbers have stayed the same throughout August. It’s Barry’s numbers that have dropped. There’s been a slight increase in disapproval since the CNN poll, but the BIG change has been among people who still approved of Obama three weeks ago. Now? Not so much. Five percent more of them now say they don’t know what to think of him.

Five percent. And that is ALL on him. Not bad Congress that can’t get anything done. Not the evil House majority that is so whipped by the Tea Party. And not stupid Americans who don’t know the difference between Congress and the President.

Him. Barack Hussein Obama Jr.

Okay … no comment on this one so I’ll stick this random remark here 🙂

I just got a video from Mama Buzz … SO funny! Lil Buzz did NOT want his nap, fought it in that way kids do where you swear they must have glued those eyelids up.

Well, so then he gets hungry and demands a snack. She filmed him in his high chair, eating while sleeping … the bobbing head, the jerk awake, take more bites, chew chew, sleep. It’s about 30 seconds and such a hoot.

I can’t figure out how to share it with you. It’s a GPP2 file. Any advice?

    • I’m not familiar with that file format. You could try web-searching it. There may be a file converter out there somewhere.

On the video…my kids have only done that once or twice, but it’s quite hilarious. I would love to see it!

You have just described the nightly ritual at our dinner table! It is usually about 8:00 before I can get anything together, and since DH is up at 4:30 AM every day, he looks like Baby Buzz just about every night. Lately, I have been joining him in that nodding off and jerking awake thing – busy, busy days in August so far. And it’s not “my fault”. It must be all Congress’ doing!

Can either you or your daughter upload the video to YouTube? Then you can share. I know how to do it from a Mac, but I’m clueless on a PC.

As for this post – awesome!!! I’ve been working on a post along this theme – that Congress’ approval rating isn’t all that low when you consider that it never gets very high, but I haven’t been able to quantify the point – you hit it out of the park – way to go!!!!

      Thanks!

I explored the video thing and it looks to me like WordPress does not allow uploads, probably a space thing. Videos can be SO big. They do allow links to YouTube, but THEY won’t let me sign up. I tried every which way from Sunday ARGH.

If someone here has or can set up a YouTube account we can use to post stuff here, please holler.

I am so out of my league here with the tech stuff. I have a youtube account (I didn’t have any problem getting the account) and I would certainly be happy to let you use it. I’m at work now and can’t really spend the time right now (on lunch break getting my blog fix), but I’ll back channel email you tonight and we’ll get it figured out… The least I can do for all that you do for us every day! Later…

          Chrissy –

I thought I had your email, but evidently not – so here’s what I found out…

Ok – just asked my-son-the-genius about the video and he said if you send it to someone with an IPhone or a Mac it can be opened in Quicktime and “File/Save As” and exported to web. Then send it to YouTube. I haven’t done that before, but it sounds like something I can handle if you’d like me to.
