An August 2011 Rasmussen poll asked Likely Voters “How likely is it that some scientists have falsified research data in order to support their own theories and beliefs about global warming?”

69% said Likely. 22% said Unlikely.

But CBS Brain Trust Norah can’t imagine America electing a president who doesn’t believe in Al Gore’s version of reality.

  1. Norah’s not alone. A Facebook friend (someone I knew in college, but haven’t seen since, other than on FB) recently made a comment to the effect that Rick Perry is a moron because he doesn’t believe in global warming. I generally try to avoid getting into policy arguments on FB, but in this case, since she had her facts wrong, I just pointed out (politely) that what Rick really said was that he doubted that global warming was caused by human activity. My friend shot back, “So would it be extra terrestrial beings at work then?!” Now, before you assume this woman is just not very bright, I should tell you that she was a straight-A student, valedictorian of her graduating class, and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. She is most assuredly not stupid. But she, like many other intelligent people, has been misled and misinformed by the church of global warming, its high priest Al Gore, and his acolytes in the media.

I am hopeful for people like this. As more and more comes out about Gore’s lies, Obama’s lies, etc., some will choose to stick their heads in the Leftist sand, but others will get royally pissed about having been lied to all these years.

Smart, well-educated people pride themselves on their perspicacity. They do NOT take being made to look foolish lightly at all. And, being bright, they are likely to become avid consumers of right wing literature and, from there, eager allies in the fight to undo the stranglehold Leftist Liars have on our media.

Robin of Berkeley comes to mind. And of course yours truly who had the same experience as Robin, dipping into conservative literature and getting hooked. The Left’s writing is so muddled and filled with clichés. It’s an incredible experience to read conservative literature! You can literally feel your brain expanding.

These kinds of people are my targets and the reason I do mostly fact-based graphics, rather than cartooning or snarking, and why I include URLs. My hope is that a graphic will grab the attention of someone who wouldn’t be caught dead READING anything conservative, but who ardently believes something the graphic demonstrates is false.

Once they’ve caught a “brain splinter” (aka, entered into a state of cognitive dissonance), they are likely to follow up with real reading, even if only to find evidence that proves me wrong. Since very little of what the Left holds to be true actually holds up under scrutiny, the next step is a soul thing.

Either they love truth more than liberalism or else they choose to ignore the facts and embrace their hate-filled lies. We need to pray for them.
