The more I learn about the horrors of the legal abortion industry, the more convinced I become that the only way for abortion to truly be safe and legal is if we grant the unborn the status of human persons under the law.

When abortion was a felony, abortionists were almost all doctors; they are not all doctors now, so how has that changed?! But when abortion was a felony, abortionists had to be very careful not to harm their patients. Now, abortionists are protected by a politicized legal system that protects and coddles the worst scum practicing back alley butcher medicine.

When abortion was a felony, abortion-related deaths were reported and we had accurate records of how many women were maimed and killed. NARAL invented that ridiculous “25,000 women slaughtered a year” myth. The real number was under 100. In the entire country.

Now? Who knows? The actual deaths directly resulting from botched abortions are camouflaged in public figures as things like “heart failure.” Yeah, well … women who bleed out do sort of die of “heart failure” cuz the heart can’t pump what isn’t there. But it’s only in the local medical records that it will say what caused the blood loss.

Do you think people who bleed out and die of “heart failure” because of a gunshot wound or a knifing or a car accident have those deaths reported as “heart failure”? No.

    • So true, Chrissy. Those of us who are old enough to recall the days when abortion was illegal can remember the campaigns to legalize it, with their hysterical claims about thousands of women being killed and maimed, and the horrifying photographs of the back-alley butchers’ establishments that desperate women were supposedly forced to go to, since they had no other choice (adoption never having been considered, I guess). Was anyone really stupid enough to think that legalizing abortion would improve the situation? That the butchers who were willing to kill babies back when it was a crime would all of a sudden close up shop when it became legal? How naive can you get?
