I posted  lot of links but they came up blank; WP toolbar was missing from homepage–I had to go to console.

Well,it was fun while it lasted.

I haven’t posted enough to know what you are talking about, but you certainly have not lost any privileges. I don’t know what happened, though. Sorry that all that work is gone…..

There are times when my inadequazies with all things electronic are more glaring than others.

    • If you go to your history (assuming you haven’t cleared it), you should be able to find the missing links (sorry, couldn’t resist). Email them to polinators@gmail.com and one of us will try to correct the problem. Thanks so much for all your work, Pete!

    • More than likely, this was a WP fluke. For some reason, it looks like it just saved the carriage returns, but no text. I tried to look through the previous revisions (WP saves them all) and see if there’s anything there, but couldn’t find any text. Sorry!

I went and tried to fool with it too. I think WP got hacked or something. When I clicked “compare revisions”, I got this weird series of text messages on a black screen … “self destruct in 3,2,1” “the matrix has you” “follow the white rabbit”

I deleted the whole post. It was empty anyway and possibly toxic. If you’ve got the links in a text file, Pete, we can try reposting.

Note to all y’all with admin privileges: It is a good idea to compose your blogs in a text editor and save to your own computer, then copy/paste into the blog window.

OR, if you compose in the blog window, copy/paste it all into a text editor and save before hitting PUBLISH.

Either way, if something goes wrong, you haven’t lost the bulk of your work, just the easy-to-redo post-it part.

        • HA! I did the exact same thing and I thought it was hilarious. It does that (apparently) if you try to compare two of the exact same version. I love The Matrix, so I thought it was great, although the self-destruct thing caught me off guard for a second.

All of this reminds me that I had been meaning to type out instructions on how to post directly from MS Word for some time now, but just got busy with other things. Hopefully, I’ll get around to it soon, but for those who want to attempt it on their own, the newest version(s) of MS Word allows you to type, save, and even post to a blog directly from Word. You just have to click New and choose Blog Post, rather than Document, from the selections. Then click Manage Accounts and New and follow the step by step instructions. After that, you’ll be all set to post from Word without ever opening your browser.

  3. One of the HB gremlins must’ve gotten loose and wandered over here to wreak a little havoc…

  4. Crikesy Pete, just login, WP throws me offline all the time 🙂 You’ll be fine.

This morning I had the best dream. I was laying into Karl Rove and telling him what’s what. I hated to wake up because I had so much more to say!
