While I still always watch, and sometimes she gets off a really good one, this show has lost some of its luster for us. The heavy-handed laugh track has become quite tiresome, when it isn’t actually repulsive. She could expand her repertoire of delivery from just snark, especially on the more sombre matters. For those reasons, ’round our house, we’ve come to prefer Scott Ott’s reports. But it’s all good to have ’em all out there!

Before he moved into our white house, I heard him say that the girls did not get christmas gifts. He spun it to make it sound as if he wanted them to be unmaterialistic, but I believe it was because they did not celebrate Christmas at all. Which explains why they get out of the White house every Christmas and decorate their tree with photos of Mao.
Not to mention the look on his face when he entered that holy mosque on his first trip as president. That is the only time he ever showed emotion, like a Christian seeing the shroud of Turin. I wonder where that video went?

Decades back, when “backwards masking” was “discovered” in Stairway to Heaven, when only by ruining our phonograph needles could we find out how Paul McCartney died (hint: in a car crash), my brother and I did some recordings where we’d sing something forwards, play it backwards, learn the whole backwards version phonetically, record it that way, and play it back. The weird thing was, often, the words sounded fine, the voices were just a little bit off on the attack/decay ends. Kind of a bust of an experiment, but fun, especially the bizarre constructions we wrote down as the backwards “words.”
I absolutely do not buy into backmasks. It’s all aural pareidolia. But, while looking for O saying “Yes we can,” I ran across this video, and so I pass it along, but just for fun.

BTW I hope you had a good look at the political cartoons. They are a real hoot. Both of these political cartoonists have a genuine feel for the truth. Both of them put some meaning into their cartoons.
That thing that is slung around the neck is the bit that has me laughing when I finally worked out one meaning…. 🙂
